Thank you to @imtheriz and the rhythm section tonight @90s_project_all3n and @nygelanderson for letting me sit in at @overunder_bar and play through Billie’s Bounce a la Parker 👀🫣 This one was spooky for me!! #jazz #swing #uptempo #charlieparker #keys #drums #bass #guitar by @rachirooooo

The last slide reads:

You are
Not a gallery painting -
who concedes to be completed -
but like a dance of creams and coffees
You are different worlds
merging into one
delicious and devious multiplicity.
You are seventy fireflies in flux,
A bonfire in the night, and
Fog on the concrete.
You are a moving train with a new compartment every day.
You will never be finished
And you are wonderful for it.

Music is everywhere and thriving in Tallahassee! by @rachirooooo

Have you met Bloom yet? She’s a cutie! Everyone says she’s just the right size, and that they like her feet. She’s a big fan of sticks, cat poo and yellow tennis balls. by @rachirooooo

This was a nice show. by @rachirooooo

Another thrifting score - I’ve never heard Leonard Bernstein’s speaking voice recorded before, and this marration of Carnival of the Animals is so lovely 😁 by @rachirooooo

I love the aesthetic of the interior design and decoration of Skyrim/Oblivion/Elder Scrolls, so I’m always looking for little goodies that look like they come from that world - a claw, a coin, a glass bottle, etc. I love finding things that are made with natural materials like stone or clay or wax that might have been in the game. Today I found what I feel I could only consider a Daedric artifact in the game - look at this candle! In reality someone must have spent such a long time practicing making candles like this. It is spooky… and beautiful… and well crafted… and most important of all, it burns 😂

If you read this far, I’d love to hear about the things you collect. Just recently I saw that a friend of mine has gotten into plants, and her collection is so beautiful. I think one of the most human traits we have is to collect things we consider to be “shiny” - shoes, dolls, and things that only the collector can understand the beauty of. Are you a collector of people, who surrounds themselves with the strangest and most incredible minds? A collector of stones or of woven artifacts? Whatever it is, I wish you a day of finding 🥰 by @rachirooooo

Woohoo! Thank you to everyone who let me collect a little ginger this summer - I have my first awapuhi bloom!!!

I also want to take this time to apologize - I had to cancel a show the other weekend, and I was actually grateful for the weather. With the school year started back up, I cannot perform on Friday evenings anymore - this week, I came home and promptly fell asleep until the next morning at 9.

I know there are many musicians, mothers, and makers that have successfully balanced this tightrope, but I believe that this a boundary that I have to swt if I dont want to get sick like I did last year. (I missed multiple days of school and was coughing from morning to night)

Thank you for all the support you have offered me. I will still be playing shows on the occasional Saturdays and Sundays. by @rachirooooo

All colored in! by @rachirooooo

After four hours of work, the idea is starting to take shape. I think im going to run over each of the tiles with nail polish or something similar so that the material stays luminous. Currently “The Great” on Hulu and enjoying my day of no work and all play. 🥰 by @rachirooooo
