Repost from @northlight_studio • A date for your diaries - coming up is the Northlight Winter Fair!! 🌟🌟🌟 This year it’s going to be a one day event on Saturday 12th December. It’s where all the studio holders in our collective get chance to have a stall and sell their wares. And you get chance to buy gifts direct from the makers (for others or for yourself!) and feel all the fun of the festive season with us. Don’t miss it! #winterfair #northlightartspace #hebdenbridge #meetthemaker #christmasgifts Poster design by @redmousedesign Event fully accessible. by @rachred
I love this cherry tree on Bridgegate in central Hebden Bridge. It’s currently in it’s autumn glory, as I have depicted it here with this dry point etching. It is very much part of its location, contributing to the sense of place vibe. In spring it has blossom, in summer it provides shade and shelter for humans, birds and the odd squirrel, and it has heard so many conversations, buskers and parades in its time. #cherrytree #streettree #hebdenbridge #senseofplace #autumnplumage Can see @diadeltacohebdenbridge and People’s Pizzeria here too 😃 by @rachred
The wonderful Wadsworth Walking Market is back! Next Sunday. And I’m very happy to be having a stall in the Wadsworth Community Centre. It’s a brilliant event, come and visit! I’ll have a big selection of wares… 🦊 🪿 🦉🦦🦌🐻 #wadsworthwalkingmarket #wadsworth #oldtownhebdenbridge #rachreddesigns by @rachred

So impressed with my students work in collagraph printmaking this half term at @northlight_studio. Mainly worked towards collagraph landscapes with some birds and buildings too. Here are a few of them, there were more I didn’t manage to photograph… #collagraph #printmaking #printclass #artschool by @rachred
I’m putting one of my edition of original screen prints of Hardcastle Crags in the exhibition raising money for Gaza families that starts tonight and runs over the weekend. In a frame fresh from the Overgate charity shop. Lots of work currently being put up. Starts at 7pm. Auction tonight too. @northlight_studio #gazabenefit #takemehome #hardcastlecrags #senseofplace #screenprint by @rachred
Thinking about lino cutting. It’s possibilities and limitations. It’s simplicity. Found this card from last year, might make some more… #autumn #autumnfinds #woodland #linocut #printmaker by @rachred
The beech trees are constantly dropping nuts all over the place at the moment. Sometimes the whole thing and sometimes they burst open and it’s the nuts inside that are dropping. A bumper year. Easy to roll on them when walking down woodland slopes. Last year it was acorns that were acting like ball bearings underfoot at this time. I think the oaks are having more of a rest this year after their mast year last autumn. Also found some lactating mushrooms, or Slimy Milkcap, that like to hang out under beech trees. #slimymilkcap #autumnwalking #beechtrees #beechnuts #woodland by @rachred
Autumn has come to my dry point etching of this mighty oak in the woods. #oak #tree #drypointetching #treelove #printmaker by @rachred
The two Black poplar trees on the river in #hebdenbridge have their glorious autumn transition thing going on. Yellow sentinels of this part of town and my walk to work. It seems I am a creature of habit, as these first three pics were all taken on 7th October, this year, last year and the year before! #blackpoplar #treelove #autumncolour #fallingleaves by @rachred
Don’t you sometimes just think “You are the most beautiful leaf in the whole world!” And then see a load of other beauties too… all blown off the trees last night in the wind and picked up by me on my way to work this morning 🍁 🍃 🍂 😍 #sycamore #blackpoplar #alder by @rachred
I have a new print, it’s called An Abundance of Rowan Berries, inspired by the currently heavily laden Mountain Ash trees around our neighbourhood and the blackbirds that sing through spring and summer, are often the first bird I see in a morning and are now quietly munching and preparing themselves for winter. This is a screen print made with hand cut paper stencils, on A3 Fabriano paper, two different colour ways and you can find it in @spiralsfairtrade as part of their new exhibition ‘Thresholds’ that opens on Friday! Upstairs. Featuring lots of amazing local artists. And the opening will be on Friday evening 5pm to 7pm if you fancy it. #thresholds #blackbird #rowan #screenprint #rachreddesigns by @rachred
