Ōtautahi was sweet as 🥞☁️🚋😌 by @radicalsoybean

a very nerdy geological and ornithological delight of a day, we saw glacier carved valleys, fiords, mountains and so so many birds ~ wild kererū, tūī, weka (making baby weka, bless), albatross, fantails, a south island robin, a whiro and one kea (yay) some lucky bastards in piopiotahi saw fiordland crested penguins with yellow eyebrows 💀 devo to miss that one. we also saw takahē (thought to be extinct and rediscovered twice) eating grass at the te anau bird sanctuary the day before which was rad.

afterwards we went to the fiordland cinema to watch ATA WHENUA ~ SHADOWLANDS (highly recommend, so beautiful) and they had the kākāpō nest cam live in the bar, such a bloody vibe 📽🥚🦜👀🍷 chur !!! by @radicalsoybean

this and civil resistance 🕊 by @radicalsoybean

Over 11 million people have been affected with more than 1,136,000 people across Sumatra, Southern Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam displaced (source: United Nations) after the latest cyclone and floods ripped through the region.

Entire villages have been flooded, coastlines shredded, and communities left with nothing overnight. People need aid now, and we cannot rely on institutions or governments to respond as quickly or as adequately as is required in this moment.

Our community has deep, personal ties to these places through friends, family, and the coastlines we visit and surf. What hits them hits us. If you've ever travelled, lived, or loved in these regions, this is the moment to show up.

And there's a larger thread that deeply connects so-called-western-australia to these regions being affected by increasing climate events. So-called australia’s coal and gas exports are heating the oceans and turbocharging cyclones, and every new fossil fuel project our government approves makes events like this even stronger and more frequent. Our neighbours suffer the fallout while so-called-australia keeps pumping out the emissions driving the destruction.

🌀 Give to mutual aid today.
⚡ Then join your local movement as we continue to demand that the Australian government STOP approving new coal and gas.

Solidarity means action. No more excuses. No more fossil fuel expansion. Climate treaty now ⚡

Note: we support grassroots mutual aid efforts. The requests listed in this post have been sent from ARC members who have direct ties to these communities. If you know of other communities and efforts needing assistance, please get in touch with us.

If you would like to transfer funds but do not have a Wise account, please DM us and we can assist.

whirlwind of a few weeks since getting back from laos 💫 very much looking forward to introvert christmas ~ give me book recommendations pls ~ although i am leaning heavy towards some more magical realism after reading maali and watching one hundred years of solitude (🖤!!!) so maybe more ggmg (gabriel garcia marquez goodness) and finally read love in the time of cholera? can't judge a mf for needing a lil escapism in these fukkked up fascisto times.

stray strong out there ~ talk to your politically misaligned neighbours, pick up other people's trash and don't get caught up in the minutiae of self obsessively trying to change to world with every single decision we're forced to make while operating under neoliberal capitalism to survive (it's hard!)

p.s sending my love and aud to sri lanka after ditwah, i spent a month there for my birthday many moons ago so it's very special to me, one of the strongest memories of lanka is the kindess and generosity of strangers, but even if i hadn't, gotta help folks in need when and how we can while we're all here on the wonky orb that is mother earth 🌞🌞🌞 by @radicalsoybean

lolly dog 🍓🐕

she loves playing, pro wrestling, long walks, sunshine and watching the cows 🐄👀 she doesn't love strange men, baths, lawnmowers or when people are on their phone too much. welcome home you massive weirdo.
