It might look like I didn’t do much in this position, but anyone who trains at our academy ( we have the best team )knows that when it comes to defense, every little detail matters.
I used to get completely stuck in this position because I simply didn’t know what to do. Every time I ended up here, I would just give up, look at my training partner, and have absolutely no idea what my next move should be. 😂
And of course, that’s exactly what happened during training with @zogbijj . I was supposed to be working on guard passing, and he decided to throw THIS at me instead. 🤣🫪🫥🙄
That’s one of the things I love about private lessons. You can stop, ask questions, get corrected, try again and try again, and make mistakes without feeling like you’re ruining your training partner’s session.
You can slow everything down, understand the details, and actually build the confidence to react when the same situation happens again.
And that’s exactly what we’re doing.
And no, guys… I’m not preparing for a competition.

Back to the mats.

Coming back to the mats was more than just returning to training. It was about rebuilding my focus, my discipline, and my confidence after a period that forced me to deal with the departure of Davi and Duda😢 Leaving people behind is never easy, especially when they are a part of an important chapter of your journey. But sometimes, life changes the direction and you have to keep moving.
Getting back to Jiu-Jitsu gave me the opportunity to reconnect with what I love, challenge myself again, and prove that I can adapt without losing who I am as an athlete.
Along the way, training with Zogbi has also brought a different perspective to my journey. His approach to Jiu-Jitsu, the way he teaches, and the experience I’ve gained through training with him have added something valuable to this new phase.
Back to Work 🤞🏻
