An ocean moment somewhere between motion and stillness.

What a morning, big waves, hazy af, challenging lighting, dodging rain squalls but wouldn’t wanna be anywhere else. @jonceeeeena

I pretty much unknowingly rocked up to the cliffs on this morning back in April and the ocean decided to go nuclear. It was one of the most epic sessions I’ve ever witnessed behind the lens. Front and centre unsurprisingly was @tom_myers constantly showing composure in critical, consequence heavy waves.

Introducing Jason Vellere

Based on the Gold Coast, with regular escapes to Sydney's Northern Beaches, Jason (@rainbirdfluidcreations) spends most of his days in or around the water, camera in hand, and usually out there before the sun comes up.

His photography is all about movement and light. Using slow shutter speeds, Jason captures more than a single moment: the energy, the atmosphere and that feeling of connection with the ocean. A long lull in swell sent him back through older images, and his experiments with a motion-blur style have since become an exciting new direction in his work.

Jason's photography has been featured by Surfline, Tracks and Crush Surfing Magazine. We're so happy to welcome him to Ocean Art Prints. His collection is coming soon to oceanartprints.com
