Listen, these viral fruit Christmas trees were a hit for the holidays with my family last year so I had to bring them back this year. They’re functional, pretty and super easy to make so I had to make tutorial.

You can remix with your favorite fruits, I added rosemary for the Christmas tree aesthetic but it’s not necessary. I got the cones @michaelsstores but you can find them at most places that sell crafting supplies.

Have you tried making these fruit Christmas trees or plan to? by @rattlesandheels

Last week I pulled out my favorite plaid skirt and went to see SCHOOL GIRLS; OR, THE AFRICAN MEAN GIRLS PLAY on Broadway, and I absolutely loved it! 🇬🇭

It was hilarious, thought-provoking, and covered themes like body image, body shaming, self-love, beauty standards, colorism, friendship, and high school social hierarchies.

Two of my favorite actresses star in SCHOOL GIRLS: Denée Benton, aka Peggy on The Gilded Age, and Patina Miller, who you may know from Madam Secretary and Raising Kanan. That said, the entire cast was really talented and brilliant.

This story is set in a boarding school in Ghana, and it was refreshing to experience this unapologetically African story on a Broadway stage.

I think this is a show that, regardless of your background, you would love and find elements that are relatable. The high school drama, the friendships, the competition, wanting to fit in, figuring out who you are, and all the messy social dynamics are universal. You will recognize something in these girls.

I also really enjoyed the talkback afterward and getting to hear about the inspiration from playwright Jocelyn Bioh and director Whitney White, the two Black women behind this incredible show.

SCHOOL GIRLS is playing at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre until November 1, so grab tickets ASAP. I’ll link them in my stories! Let me know if you plan to go!

Thank you to @MTC_NYC for the invite!

Get your tickets through Manhattan Theatre Club, and I’ll also link them in my stories: https://www.manhattantheatreclub.com/shows/2026-27-season/school-girls-or-the-african-mean-girls-play/

This cowboy hat hated to see me coming all summer 🤠😂

I’m such a big fan of @marabrockakil work I was excited to read The Revelation of Dionne Daphne and went in blindly.

This book is good but it’s also very heavy so be sure to read the trigger warnings ⚠️ It is such a captivating story, I couldn’t put this book down.

Trying to look your best in your 40s is not for the weak! Over the last year I’ve changed a lot. One of the biggest things is my hair, it’s not as thick as it once was due to some health issues. My skin is changing and I’m noticing more prominent dark circles around my eyes. In any case, I try to embrace all of these changes because they’re just part of life, and I do my best to look my best every day. These are the products in my daily arsenal that help me feel confident. Linked them in my stories, LTK & ShopMy!

I’m so glad we chose this color, it works much better with the light fixture and picture frames. Also, we spent a little extra for one coat primer/paint so this was a quick project.

My next plan for this space is to switch out the photos and find a clock for the adjacent wall.

Do you have paint updates in your to-do list too? My next paint job will be our powder room. by @rattlesandheels

Okay, I skipped a week but I’m back with what I cooked last week for my family of 5. These were all pretty quick meals to make. I didn’t get much footage of the curry chicken because the kids requested it and it went FAST lol What have you been cooking lately? by @rattlesandheels

…and that’s on getting my hair together in just a few minutes and extending my wash day because these kids schedules are scheduling. I started using @amika Perk Up Ultra for oil control last year when my daughter was doing travel volleyball and it’s still my go-to. (Product linked in my stories)

Do you use dry shampoo? It’s really just a year since I added it to my hair routine and only when I wear it straight. by @rattlesandheels

40 is not too late to start a new goal, switch careers, journey, lifestyle, relocate or anything on your mind. We have one life to live and we can’t afford to have regrets. I know I don’t want any. At 40, we’re just getting started. #over40blogger by @rattlesandheels

One day I’ll get it together 😂 I don’t ever remember everything I need until I actually need it 🤦🏾‍♀️Now I understand why we used to get sent to the store so many times as kids 😂 by @rattlesandheels
