Update.

Hey you. Heads up. You make it to Australia. A couple days after this night. Also, thank you for the heavy cry two nights after this. It’s cool to think that was a grieving cry where you released the disappointment of “the way you thought it was gonna happen” and “the way it actually happens”. To be honest, I think you should start to trust the process. For as much as you’ve wanted things to work out a certain way, God’s been ordering your steps and making a way. Your desire to create community and grow as you go is inspiring and a beautiful reminder that we’re gonna make it and I think I’m starting to like this little life!

NZ.

Sometimes you run to safety, and sometimes you realise you were safe the whole time. Thanks for taking such good care of my mind soul and spirit. It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later!

41.

Alright, come in and wreck shop. Make me dream and realise that this is what I’ve been praying for. The moments of rest. The moments of joy. The childlike moments. The moments of laughter. The moments of insecurity. May all of these moments remind you that you are truly a beautiful soul in this universe and a special kind of person.

May this be our best year yet.

Here’s to you, kid.

Magic.

Finding yourself lost in the sauce and seeing a room full of people doing the wave, waving their towels, singing along, SMILING, pushing up the hill, putting on glow paint, high fiving one another, being tired, choosing to push anyway is pure magic ✨.

Being able to take all the weirdly beautiful parts of me and roll them all into a 45 minute playlist that takes people out of the monotony of life and gives them the chance to just be themselves is also pure magic.

Ray, I hope you realise that this is what you came for… PURE MAGIC!

Thursday Nights spiced up by the Spice Girls 🌶️ by @rayji01

2026. Magic

For the longest time I felt like I was chasing a dream that seemed so close but also way to far. I know myself to be somewhat of a vagabond, so in moments when ideas ran out and hope seemed sparse, I chose to lean into those who chose to stay and be apart of this silly little adventure. Only, the adventure went from silly to serious and life seemed to soberly remind me how easily our days slip past us.

So in honour of 2026, I’m finally joining in with all you crazy kids and cool cats and trusting, the magic. If you’ve always trusted, thank you for believing before me and giving me space to catch up. But if you’re like me and need further transparency, here goes nothing… you were right. I did. I absolutely came down to Australia with no plan at all, but can I tell you a secret. This no planned life has become some of the most magical moments I’ve ever enjoyed and so again, this time around we’re trusting the magic. We’re leaning into the serendipity and allowing space to understand that for as much as I had no plan, a plan was waiting for me and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead.

So make it stick in ‘26, Ray and enjoy every day and moment on purpose. You got this kid!

2025.

Hey you. Listen, can I ask a favor? BREATHE. Take a second. Slow down. Remember that time that you thought you wouldn’t be exactly where you are right now. Don’t let your life pass you by trying to show everyone else that you’re alive and well. You started your year singing and making people smile in the harbour, surrounded by fireworks and good vibes. You’re doing it kiddo. Take your time. Enjoy the ride. Smile more. Love more. Be present.
Happy new year and here’s to the best year of your life! I love you. I trust you. You’re doing great sweetie.
