Elijah Simmons dynamic performance has helped for Redwood Christian’s success, reaching a 2-0 start, effectively impacting the game in all three phases—offense, defense, and special teams. His 7 touchdowns, 6 on the ground and one returned as a pick six, combined with the game-changing defensive plays and footwork, showcases the kind of all-around athlete every coach dreams of fielding. For a freshman stepping up to varsity in his first major appearance, this level of impact is truly exceptional. In only 20 carries, Simmons has racked up 277 yards. If Simmons continues to grow and bring this dual-threat energy game after game, he could quickly become one of the standout names in the NCS high school football scene. His ability to switch from making tackles to scoring touchdowns indicates a rare level of adaptability and athleticism as a freshman playing among Varsity players. Coaches and teammates alike will be eager to see how he builds on his breakout performances the last few weeks. A player to definitively keep an eye on as the season progresses.
