🥶🔥 COOLING DOWN TO TURN UP THE HEAT.

At @pedigosubmissionfighting , @adcc_official camp means relentless scrambles, explosive wrestling exchanges, high-intensity rounds, and pushing some of the best grapplers in the world to their limits.

But when the intensity goes up, so does the heat.

That’s why we brought CoolMitt onto the mats during ADCC camp.

Using innovative palm-cooling technology, CoolMitt gives athletes another tool to manage heat buildup between rounds, support recovery, and prepare for the next push.

🧠 The goal isn’t just to train harder. It’s to maximize the quality of the work we can perform.

More productive rounds. Better management of fatigue. Smarter approaches to high-performance training.

At the highest levels of grappling, every advantage matters.

TRAIN HARD. COOL SMART. GET BACK TO WORK.

🥋 SUNDAYS AT PSF HQ — TRAIN SMARTER & HARDER.

High-percentage sequences. High-yield skills.

We’re taking a different approach to submission grappling training by combining technical development with performance under physical stress.

🔴 4–5 PM | LOW HEART RATE CLASS

EXPLORE → IDENTIFY

Slow things down to speed up your development.

We’ll explore high-percentage situations, identify the most effective sequences, and build technical efficiency through focused positional training.

The goal is to understand not just what works, but why it works.

🔵 5–6 PM | HIGH HEART RATE CLASS with CoolMitt

PERFORM

Now it’s time to put those skills to work.

We’ll take the sequences developed in the first hour and hammer them out through high-intensity, situational grappling designed to build execution, endurance, and performance under fatigue.

Featuring CoolMitt technology to help manage heat and support recovery between rounds.

🧠 The philosophy is simple:

Explore the possibilities. Identify what works. Train it until you can execute it under pressure.

Too tired or injured for a hard session? Just come from 4-5pm

**Traditional Open Mat is still available and starts at 5pm**

Daisy Fresh AKA @pedigosubmissionfighting started in an old laundromat. Now Heath Pedigo’s team is competing on the biggest stages in grappling and bringing the most advanced athletic cooling technology used in professional sports into his training room.

Here’s the basic idea:

Your palms, the soles of your feet, and parts of your face have special blood vessels called AVAs-arteriovenous anastomoses. They help your body release heat by bringing warm blood close to the skin’s surface and expose it to the air for cooling.

But colder isn’t always better. Make the skin too cold and blood vessels constrict, reducing the flow needed to carry heat out.

@realcoolmitt circulates cool temperature-controlled water against your palms to support that natural heat exchange.

Why does that matter?

Working muscles generate heat. As heat builds up, it can limit how much work you can sustain. More efficient cooling leaves more blood circulating to the muscles instead of the skin for oxygen exchange.

Helping the body release that heat can support greater training output.

The goal: more reps, more rounds, higher intensity. Get more from the practice you already put in by cooling better.

Meet Richelle, Elliott, and Rixford, three siblings quietly stacking up hardware in Junior Olympic track and field. Between them: 12 All-American finishes.

They train in Houston, where the heat and humidity are relentless. When sweat can't evaporate, heart rate climbs, muscles get less oxygen, and the body can't shed heat between efforts. So the family cools where it counts, the palms, home to the body's most powerful heat-exchange vessels. Lower the core between reps, recover faster, and the next rep is a real rep instead of a survival effort.

Three athletes, three CoolMitts, one very cool family. We're proud to have them on the team.

Cool is the advantage. Heat is the enemy. by @scottyogriffin

Lora did amazing with the BlazePods today.

Her reaction time was noticeably better, and she hit the correct color almost every single time. In the round before this video, she only made one incorrect hit.

More progress!

One reason I love incorporating BlazePods is that they aren't just an athletic-performance tool. They challenge reaction time, visual processing, attention, coordination, decision-making, and movement, which is everything we're working on throughout Lora's stroke recovery.

See it → process it → decide → move.

You might also notice the CoolMitt on her foot. This is something I've incorporated with Lora since the beginning of our work together. I've consistently noticed that she tends to perform better when we use it during her training, so I try utilizing it as much as we can.

Strength training isn't just about building muscle. We're training the brain and nervous system, too.

Every rep, every visual stimulus, every decision, and every coordinated movement gives her another opportunity to practice connecting the brain and body.

The goal isn't simply to make Lora stronger, but to keep challenging her entire system and improving what she's capable of doing.

Keep up the great work, Lora. 💪🧠

Craig Gile and Rear Adm. (Ret.) Mike Wettlaufer are in Washington, DC this week representing CoolMitt at the Emerging Technologies for Defense Conference & Exhibition, hosted by NDIA and its Emerging Technologies Institute.

The event brings together leaders from government, the defense industry, and academia to look at the technologies that will shape national security, with a focus on systems that can be fielded within the next five years. Heat stress belongs on that list. CoolMitt was built to solve it. by @scottyogriffin

You can't measure your crew's core temperature. But heart rate will tell you what heat is doing to them.

Pick one task they do every day. Check heart rate at that task, same point in every shift. Watch what happens after a cooling break.

Same heat, same work, ten minutes: 120 bpm without cooling, 84 with palmar cooling. Single-subject self-test, not a controlled trial.

Cool is the advantage. by @scottyogriffin

To every athlete plunging both arms into an ice bucket on a 108° day: we love you. But please — don't.

That relief is a trick your body is playing on you. Ice water on the skin triggers vasoconstriction — a protective reflex that slams your blood vessels shut. And your palms happen to contain the most powerful heat-exchange vessels in your body: specialized structures called AVAs (arteriovenous anastomoses) that can move up to 60% of your cardiac output when you're overheating.

Cool them right, and you cool the core from the inside out. Freeze them, and those vessels close. The radiator goes offline. Your skin feels numb while your core temperature keeps climbing.

The Stanford lab that developed our science nailed the range: cool, not cold. Enough to draw the heat out — not enough to trigger the shutdown.

That's CoolMitt. And it's why athletes from PGA, MLB, the NFL, and the Tour de France reach for it instead of the ice bucket.

Cool is the advantage. Cold shuts it down. by @scottyogriffin
