@jayex_media agreed to let me bring my camera and grab some shots during the photoshoot I won with him, and I'm super glad I was able to play around with my camera in this setting!

I wasn't sure if the weather was going to cooperate with us at all, but the sun peaking through the clouds ended up giving us perfect lighting in a beautiful location.

The Civic doesn't get nearly as much love as the X1/9 does, so I was happy when Micah said he wanted me to bring it out for this shoot.

Here are a couple of the shots I took on my R10 that I thought were worth posting. I spent some time messing around with my gimbal as well, so I may post some video later.

Big thank you again to @jayex_media for the photoshoot giveaway and picking such a great location!

From a $50 car in the bushes to a complete rebuild aside from body work, it's just never as easy as they make it seem on the Internet.

Do you think the car scene online makes people think big projects are easier than they truly are?

Just over a month ago now, but here are some of the pictures from when we pulled the X1/9 out of its old home. by @realkingofdemise

Got out with @_kmurray__ and his two AW11 MR2s together to grab some pictures quick before they get parked for the winter. Got the last bit of the fall colors on an oddly warm October evening.

Yes, I drove one of them. No, I don't fit in it. Yes, I smoked the stock clutch.

More BIR pics. Still not a build

Here's an update post on my last week of getting ready and going up to Octane Autofest at BIR.

Last weekend I found excessive blowby and bad leak down test results on multiple cylinders. Pulled the head and found the cylinder walls glazed and the rings gapped too large. @_kmurray__ and I got new rings and rod bearings tossed in and fired it up on Sunday. It was still pushing oil into the catch can, so I ordered a larger one and got that installed Wednesday. I registered for Saturday autox, Sunday HPDE, and Sunday standing start hoping that the catch can would let me run long enough between draining it to complete a few laps.

My dad and I drove up on Friday and unloaded before the storms rolled in, and I ran autox on Saturday without too many issues. The course was really cold in the morning so the first few runs were tough. I got it figured out more in the later runs and finished 4th in my class.

@drivecartel had me bring the car over for their show for a bit, and then I decided to take them up on their $30 for two drag strip passes. Ran an 11.7 at 125mph on the first pass with a terrible launch, and I think it hurt the engine in fourth gear on that pass. Definitely should have been quicker. It completely dropped a cylinder on the second pass and ran a 12 something. I didn't have the parts or tools to do another rebuild in the pit, so I loaded it up and hung out with my friends who were running standing start in their turbo Miata and rotary Beat on Sunday.

I had a good time up there, BIR is always a ton of fun, and I'm glad my friends didn't have too many issues during the weekend. I definitely shouldn't have run on the drag strip. The engine should have been able to handle it, but I should have just ran the HPDE and standing start like I planned to and paid for.

The car is done for the season while I figure out what my plan is for the engine. by @realkingofdemise

Finally got around to my photos from @drivecartel @modestevents.us from a while back. I yet again didn't take pictures of my car, but it was the only car in the venue with any rust on it, so y'all don't want to see it anyway, here's the shiny stuff.

Big thanks to the Drive Cartel crew for putting on these Modest events the last few years. It has been something I look forward to going to, and having my car accepted two years in a row meant a lot to me. It's sad that this is the last Modest event, it was one of the last events of this type in MN outside of the occasional rotation through from national groups.

I tagged the people I know, feel free to tag anyone else I missed.

Civic Wagon Part 2

~~~
Legitimately one of my top 3 favorite shoots to date. Insanely pretty set. And I feel like this shoot made it so easy to just have a relaxed set and had such a serene, calming feel, even when editing and putting these few posts together.
Thanks again to @realkingofdemise and everyone else for entering the photoshoot giveaway! We'll plan to do another one once we hit 1000 follows 💪
"There is beauty in simplicity"
Civic Wagon Part 1
~~~

Congrats to @realkingofdemise for winning our 500 follow photoshoot giveaway!

Sometimes we may feel like we dont stand out enough. Maybe that our cars dont stand out enough in this world of "who has the fastest, loudest, most expensive car". I think this Civic here is a perfect example of, you dont need everything to have something really cool.

This car is such a time capsule. From a time where things were simpler. Not chasing numbers. Not chasing clout. Enjoy your car. No matter how simple it may seem.

~~~
Really enjoyed this shoot, and was therapeutic getting out to shoot such a cool car in such a pretty spot. Excited to get the rest of these out. Looking forward to shooting tons more cars this year!
Car season is almost here, time for an update post.
Front brake lines and clutch lines were replaced. I found a leak in the front left brake line so decided to just replace all of it finally. Bulkheads were added at the rear firewall for the brake and clutch lines.
Swapped to new brake and clutch reservoirs with a new bracket. The old reservoirs were leaking so it was time to replace them all.
Got a set of 57DRs for this season, going to have new tires put on them in a few days. The other set of wheels and tires are five years old, I can't believe it's been that long but those tires gave me a lot of life!
Had to have my adapters machines down by @civil_machine to get the wheels to fit properly.
@snatchbackcivic put in a ton of work after I found the subframe cracked. He removed the whole original rear subframe and rear frame rails and made a new one along with a new torque mount (again? Again).
The passenger floor is dropped to match the driver floor now. Just finished seam sealing it, the seat and harnesses will be mounted soon, so I'll be able to take passengers again this year.
I'm sure there is more, but there's a general update of where the car is at coming into this season. Still have a list to get done, but I'm hoping to have it ready for the first practice event on the 22nd.
Seeing this snow is making me miss @hotsaucetuesdays evenings. Here are some pics I never posted from one of the last meets of the year to hold us all over.
We have a couple months of cold and snow to get our car projects done for next season, and I can't wait to see everyone out with their cars again next year!
