We are just over 2 weeks away from Discount Dave and The Fix at The Vault Creation Lab! This is The Vault’s second ever Public Lab. Rebecca Auerbach’s one woman show is directed and dramaturged by Aviva Armour-Ostroff and starts sharing May 29 and must close June 1st!

Everyone has a party story. This one began at arguably the most unlikely of places… a Shakespeare Festival.

Picture this: It’s 2005. When ‘David Lee Roth’ crashes the backstage party, Becca — the shadow version of hedonistic young actor Rebecca Auerbach — is set on a wild path of self-reckoning.

Personally: Discount Dave (and the Fix) is the true-ish story of a fake rockstar, a real trial and what it means to stop running, face yourself and fight to heal.

Last year my life long friend and multi-award-winning podcast producer, Josh Bloch, told me I should make a podcast out of my solo show. So we took it to CBC and here it is: Discount Dave and the Fix. A 5-episode narrative series set to have its world premiere this June at the Tribeca Festival in New York City. I could not have dreamed this 2 years ago when I was rehearsing by myself in a sweaty room, or last year when I got to rehearse properly with the immensely talented, brilliant and wise director and dramaturge Aviva Armour-Ostroff at @thevaultcreationlab. Thank you Diana Bentley for believing in us. And the greatest audio producer ever, Veronica Simmonds for tying it all together. Incredibly sound designed by Michelle Macklem. So many people helped along the way. I could not be more excited about this, pinch me.
