Plum Pudding Spelt Cake Pops with Honey Bourbon … literally injected with Honey Bourbon. It’s more even to use a syringe when adding Alcohol to a cake. Yet to be coated in chocolate stick added ☺️ #Christmas #CakePops #experiment #wannabite #speltflour #speltbaking by @recipegeek

I had a hankering for pie. Only problem is I’ve been unwell. Luckily I had some 100% #spelt flakey pastry scraps in the freezer. I’d made peach pie filling just before getting ill. #Peach #Galette coming up! The peaches are #freestone #homegrown & luscious! No good for canning though, as you need #clingstone peaches for preserving. Agnes my #Aga , performed dutifully. #RoastingOven floor for 5 minutes then put a shelf rack on the floor baking until browned. It was just a matter of rolling out the dough, using a bread & butter plate to cut out a circle. 1/2c of prepped filling in the middle, egg wash the inside up to filling. Then lift to pleat & egg wash outer side as you pleat. Pleat with an index finger between pleats. Chill in freezer 15 minutes until firm. Working quickly, lightly egg wash the outer crust again & sprinkle spiced Demerara sugar [1/2 ts of cinnamon in half cup of Demerara sugar … save excess]. Into the oven … preheated 220oC … mid oven. LOVE a great white milk loaf! Squishy, good rise, fine crumb. This is for the Neanderthal as it is wheat flour & regular gluten reacts with me [isn’t pretty if I succumb to the aroma 😬] … I can smell it though, can’t I? #homebaked #fromscratch #homebaker by @recipegeek
