Looking to pick up a new book and some locally made art in Grand Rapids? Make your way over to Books & Mortar Bookstore on Cherry Street :) It’s the ultimate cozy time!

@redsnailpots and I have some of our work available for purchase inside! So thrilled to be apart of this mighty little bookstore.

Tying up loose ends.

This sweater has been 35+ years in the making. The body yarn was gifted to me by the family of a dear friend when I was studying Art History in England @harlaxtoncollege through @uevansville in the late 80's - I would work on it in the winter, run out of yarn, the season would change and I would set it aside (for years... obvs!) as I decided how to proceed. Another winter I would add another color, another fiber... the red and yellow are a mohair/wool blend, the blue collar is alpaca.

I just finished it by adding the built-in brown collar of alpaca and merino, it's so cozy! It is great for outdoor winter activities and is so warm I can use it as a top layer in lieu of a winter coat. My favorite kind of sweater. Stay safe and warm everyone ❤️

I know it's only December 10th (and we'll have a long way to go
if it keeps up like this!)

... but I'm really happy to have winter back❄️

Today's the day! @uptowngr 2025 Shop Hop this afternoon/ evening. Catch one of the trolleys and enjoy yourself. And don't forget the elf scavenger hunt kids!

I'll be @that.early.bird from 3-9pm selling pots with flowers by @hyssop.studio @hyssop.floral (flowers included with vase purchase) - scroll to my trunk view 😄 when those amaryllis open they'll be stunners.

I'll be joined by @thetravelingheartist and @lefthandmakes and others at Early Bird - with loads more vendors throughout the neighborhood!

Live music at Early Bird tonight by @rabbitfurband ~6pm

(And new music here by @ilhanersahin ❤️)

And just like that, I'm no longer a "bring your own table to the market" virgin...! Thanks @hyssop.floral ❤️

What a lovely market - I had great booth neighbors @daydreamsbypaige and @honeywildapothecary and a busy day full of meeting new people and selling pots

Thanks to all the visitors for your kind words (especially about my threaded vessels!) and your purchases (and thank you @marleneseykora for helping me try to find my phone which was NOT in fact missing - eyeroll)

And @mademarket - wow! What a blast.

I learned that 6x6 is not very big, but it worked. Next time maybe I'll make sure I arrange for a little more breathing room, for people AND my pots 😂

I'll be @that.early.bird Dec 4, 3-9pm for the Uptown Shop Hop @uptowngr

Hope to see you soon!

We enjoyed creating a few special arrangements this week, especially as we got to know Laura—a nurse and potter who lives just down the road from our studio and tends both gardening and crafting beautiful pottery. She’ll be at Made Market this weekend at the Goei Center, sharing the unique pieces she’s been shaping and glazing. Among them are spoon-rest graters, bowls, vases, and other thoughtful forms. Definitely follow along @redsnailpots 🌀

It’s a lovely opportunity to seek out local makers and continue supporting the small businesses within our community. by @redsnailpots

Gorgeous flowers from @hyssop.studio for my first time as a vendor tasked with bringing my own tables etc (ha ha)

(I appreciate your built-in tables @fultonstmarket)

I guess it's a rite of passage, and I'm happy to be on the journey.

Looking forward to @mademarket tomorrow at the Goei Center.

(And I ran into dear friend, classmate, former colleague @jenjokirchgessner on the sidewalk as I was picking up the arrangements, its been far too long since we connected and this serendipity made me feel like I was in the right place❤️)

I have new 'multitasking spoonrests,' bottles with threaded lids and more - maybe see you tomorrow!

And I'll also be @that.early.bird in Easttown Dec 4, 3-9pm for the Uptown Shop Hop if that works better for you by @redsnailpots

Looking backward on the last few days - @thebadplus at @cliffbells tonight - they never disappoint, and what a beautiful venue. The staff was hopping!

And Seraphina @westmichiganclay the last woodfire of the season. We'll open her next weekend Sat, it's open to the public, come check it out if you're 'woodfire curious'... thank you @sleepgoodplayhard and @mike.taylor.pottworks

Two urns in different settings, one with a threaded lid, one not. They remind me of the big lake on an autumn day.

Here I am sharing a few more threaded bottles from yesterday's glaze load...

What would YOU use these threaded bottles for? (Especially one with a lid within a lid?)

ART! At the Market tomorrow 11-4
