🏃‍♂️💈 RICHMOND RUNS. REFUGE CUTS. RED BULL FUELS. CANCER LOSES!

🚨 30 DAYS TO GO! 🚨

Richmond, I’ve officially lost my mind… FOR A GOOD CAUSE! 😂

While thousands of runners prepare to conquer 26.2 miles during the Richmond Marathon, I’ve decided to take on a marathon of my own.

Except I won’t be running.

I’ll be standing behind my barber chair, armed with clippers, scissors, questionable endurance, and a whole lot of Red Bull! ⚡😂

💈 ONE BARBER. ONE CHAIR. A WHOLE LOT OF HAIR.

As the owner and sole barber of Refuge For Men, I’m hosting a MARATHON HAIRCUT FUNDRAISER benefiting VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center, supporting cancer research and men’s health awareness.

⚡ FUELED BY RED BULL!

Red Bull is generously providing beverages to keep the energy flowing while I attempt to survive a marathon without running a single mile!

🤝 MORE SPONSORS TO BE ANNOUNCED!

Now I need YOUR help!

💈 Get a haircut!
❤️ Make a donation!
📣 Spread the word!

You don’t have to run 26.2 miles to make a difference. Heck, you don’t even have to have hair! 😂

🏃 RUNNERS HAVE A FINISH LINE.
💈 I’VE GOT A HAIRLINE.
🎗️ TOGETHER, WE’VE GOT A CAUSE!

Even the restroom has personality at Refuge. 💜🌿 Purple walls, lush greenery, bold art—and a basketball hoop, because why stop at ordinary? It’s not just a haircut. It’s an experience.

Some pieces are bigger than art.
This one is personal. ❤️🐾

Hamilton Glass is creating this hand-painted memorial piece for Miss Virginia, and seeing it come to life in real time has honestly been emotional. Every brush stroke carries love, grief, loyalty, memories, and Richmond culture all in one canvas.

This isn’t just a painting.
This is legacy.
This is RVA creativity.
This is family.

Soon this piece will officially join the Refuge collection and become part of the story behind Refuge For Men forever.

Thank you Hamilton for turning pain into art. 🎨🙏🏾

🐾 Delivery day at @refugerva !!!

A long overdue commission for Dot, the Barber, who lost her beloved Virginia the bulldog a couple of months ago!

I thought I was surprising her today with her finish piece , but she surprise me with a new dog that she named Hamilton!

Thank you, Dot. You’ve been such an amazing client but an even better friend throughout these years. ❤️

Feeling grateful today. 🙏🏾✂️

It’s not every day that a barber from Richmond gets the opportunity to be part of something like this.

Today I’m headed to Virginia Beach for Jelly Roll’s Little A* Shed Tour*, and I’m thankful for every client, every supporter, and every person who has trusted me with a chair over the years. Opportunities like this are built one haircut, one conversation, and one relationship at a time.

Looking forward to a great day, meeting good people, and doing what I love.

Safe travels to everyone heading out today. 🎶

Today I’m thinking about my mother, my grandmother, and all the strong women in my family whose love, sacrifice, and guidance helped shape who I am. My mother passed away on November 9, 1995, but her presence still lives with me every day — in my memories, my values, and the way I try to treat people.

Mother’s Day can be beautiful and heavy at the same time. Today I want to honor not only the women in my family, but also all of the mothers who support Refuge For Men and trust me with their sons, husbands, families, and stories throughout the years.

To every mother — biological, adopted, spiritual, grieving, healing, or stepping in when nobody else would — thank you. Your impact reaches further than you know. ❤️

Throwback Thursday.

On this rainy Richmond day, I’m thinking back to a powerful morning at Byrd Park with fellow Master Barbers Instructors and local barbershop owners coming together for something bigger than business. This was about health, leadership, brotherhood, and being an example in the community.

Rainy days can make you want to slow down, but purpose does not stop just because the weather changes. Keep going. Keep building. Keep leading. What we do reaches further than the chair.

Proud to stand with other Richmond master barbers and barbershop owners who continue to show that we can elevate our city, our industry, and each other.

The love y’all have shown for Miss Virginia has meant more to me than I can put into words. 🐾❤️ Thank you for every message, every comment, every prayer.

If you want to turn that love into something powerful, I’m asking you to support someone who’s been part of my journey for 18+ years—my client Ray. He’s now facing Multiple Sclerosis, and this fight is real.

His kids literally grew up in the shop with Miss Virginia… this is family to me. This is bigger than a haircut.

Refuge For Men will be donating in Miss Virginia’s name, and I’m asking our community to stand with us.

If you’re able, please donate. Every dollar, every share, every bit of support matters.

Let’s turn love into impact. 🙏
