Sometimes I think I get a little too comfortable with my stream and my filter is just... gone 😂

From ballet to ballroom in less than fifteen seconds! It definitely didn't take several hours sweating away in the basement... both yesterday and today...

Ok so as a midsize millennial, traditional ballroom silhouettes aren't very complementary to my body type, and while I have found a few gorgeous dresses, I wanted to create something for ballroom dance that felt like me and I didn't have to have a single second thought about. Sewing a massive sweeping skirt onto a halter leotard felt like the perfect combo. It might be too much skirt for a foxtrot (I think it's going to hit my partner and I in the legs, a lot) so I still need to do that test before I dive into the thousands of rhinestones that comes next, but for something I am making up as I go, I am pretty excited about this experiment!! by @reinessatalks

Did I only fully start learning ballroom at the end of June thinking "I'll go every other week, it'll be fun" - yes I did. Am I now going 3-5 times a week, filming my practices, competing, performing, and bedazzling everything in sight? Also yes.

Originally Turnip and I started for our first wedding dance, then after a long break I went back!

Welcome to my page, where we don't do hobbies halfway, music makes everything better, and sometimes we need to yell at video games (and the world).

Don't mind these, they helped me find you 💛

So if you like... beginner ballroom, tango, dancing, swing dance, rhythm beginner, cha cha, dance content, midsize dancer, midsize dance style, then say hi!

The first clip was filmed by the incredible @tobyrhine
(The following fuzzy clips are not him, which I hope we can all tell 😂)

Shoutout to my instructors @flawless_jewel3 & @fadspro_pierre who always make the dancefloor one of the best parts of my day. by @reinessatalks

Happy Halloween from one of my favorite ever "throw a bunch of stuff together and call it Cosplay" photoshoots with @blackowl_art 🖤 by @reinessatalks

The tower has it OUT FOR ME and I will hear nothing contrary to this FACT. It absolutely couldn't possibly be any other reason.

And if you show up in chat and try to give me SCIENCE!?!? MECHANICS?? No no no no no. We will just have to set you right.

The absolute change in the CONFIDENCE of my movements from just having learned the full routine (a couple weeks in) to all of the refining and practicing to a final performance with maximum SASS. I'm so happy I started recording practices, it helps me see things that can be improved in time for the show, and what is something we can work on long term.

Song @ludoband - Love Me Dead
Dance - East Coast Swing

My instructor + partner here (Jewel) isn't on IG, but I can shout out @diafadspro for a last minute arm workshop that made significant improvements on my overcooked noodle tendencies 😂 We have a long ways to go, but I can already see small changes that I am so happy about!

EDIT SHE IS ON IG @flawless_jewel3 is the visionary behind all of this. I'll upload the full version sometime in the next few weeks so you can see how committed she was to the song 😂

This is what four months of dance lessons does. It definitely doesn't make you look like a pro, but it's the small improvements every week that are all I care about 💛 by @reinessatalks

I'm not eating you for breakfast. You're like... my afternoon snack. Where I'm not really hungry, I just want something that doesn't matter much. Let's PRIORITIZE CORRECTLY HERE.

If you stop in chat... remind me to reset the counter inbetween my video game feed sprees. by @reinessatalks

The correct answer is me after my next lesson, and the one after that, and after that 😂

After posting all those screenshots from this practice a few days ago, I figured I should share a little of my tango in motion!

This "routine" (only the intro/outro are choreographed, the rest is up to him, not me lol) is for a showcase coming up soon, and we have been laser focusing in on long term technique concepts. Even if I don't have them perfectly down right now, I can already see so much improvement from when I first performed this a month-ish ago. by @reinessatalks

Another one from the archives. This is my favorite. My all time. The greatest cosplay and shoot and everything EVER. x23 is so freeing. She's unhinged, she's lethal, she's vicious. I took a break from the pretty princesses (which is funny for this shoot specifically, because my first look WAS a pretty princess before I changed) and just unleashed.

(No trees were harmed in the making of this, the very clever Don threw things in the air over and over while I swiped at him to get that one photo)

Happy Halloween season, get ready for sooooo many cosplay memories 🧛‍♀️🖤

Please please, hold the applause. I'm here every night! (I've been streaming for way too long. The filter is gone. Shame has abandoned us. You're stuck with me and my dad jokes with the occasionally side of video games.) by @reinessatalks

Tango is HARD and watching my practice recordings can show me a lot of things to work on, but watching my birthday lesson back just has me seeing everything I absolutely love about ballroom dancing. The extension, the elegance, the power, the muscles, the slow and the fast. I feel so lucky to have found teachers I really click with and can learn from, and I cannot believe that's me. I'm doing the things!

I hope everyone is ready for tons of dance content here, because I want to share all of it, I'm just way too excited not to 😂 by @reinessatalks

I turn 34 today. I’ve never measured progress against my age, I’ve never been in a hurry to be older, and I have no desire to be younger. I’m really proud of who and where I am, and I love all the things that come with it.

A life with Turnip that I wouldn’t trade for anything, and Cass joining our family. A lifelong dream of dancing, finally getting to explore it and it turning out more amazing than anything I could have imagined. Got to see several bucket list bands this year AND support our favorites getting bigger and better all the time.

I AM STILL STREAMING 13 years later and it continues to be my home, every night.

So thanks to everyone for being a part of all of this along the way. All I want for my birthday is more of it. 🖤 by @reinessatalks
