“Bird of Sorrow” by @glenhansard live at
The Wiltern Theatre, Los Angeles, CA - October 1, 2024 - Archived

I was fortunate enough to meet Glen Hansard earlier in the day, just a few hours before this show. It felt special because it was a random moment, unexpectedly and in the wild. He was friendly, took a few minutes to talk and then take a picture. I made him laugh and thanked him for all his Covid-era streams from his kitchen. I could feel his warmth and generosity. I was crushed to hear of his passing and realize now how lucky I was to have seen Glen perform live several times.

I remember Glen telling a story how he wrote this song for his mother…

RIP to a one-of-a-kind human and artistic force. 💔🇮🇪🎸🕊️

There's something so healing knowing you guys are here to keep Glen alive. In every way possible. Life took a turn in the last month and still working to get back on my own two feet. As cheesy as it may sound I saw all of you joining this page and I'm so grateful Glen's still connecting people all over the world. Thank you for going above and beyond while being here, it makes missing you the hardest ever. You were the gift, who wouldn't let anyone down. Miss having you around.
Thank you for everything. 🤍

"I'm gonna be me, I'm gonna be free". 🤍

I bet you didn't mean being free the way it is for all of us, missing you - especially with having Ohana Fest around. But you definetly lived a life, so gifted and humble at every occasion there was. You brought the light and the love. Life isn't waiting for the perfect moment, it is taking it and make it perfect. That's what you did. Thousand letters with countless things we miss, since you left. That's the goal. For you. Your closest ones and everyone who loved you around the world.
I'm sorry I can't pay it back to you, but I'm doing my best to keep you close. One in a million human.
We're 800 thinking of you.
Thank you for opening a door I thought would be closed forever. 🤍

This is the exact moment when our voices faded, but the energy of the crowd exploded. Sharing this stage and this masterpiece by Glen Hansard with @sindromedisnoopy was an absolute privilege.
Thank you to everyone who sang along, clapped, and felt this magic with us. This gift will truly last forever.

"And may good hope, walk with you through everything" 🤍

You're so much more then just everywhere we go. I'll always come back writing for you. It's my way of keeping you close and alive as best as I can.
I promised myself to do everything, not because it's "a fun thing to do", but because it's the only way I cope with missing someone I didn't know. You've been such an insperation and the answer to almost every why there is, when you dream of becoming a musician. Sucess was a part of, but most impotanly you didn't forget that hard work leads to it. You lived your life as grateful as you could be for every door people opened for you and you did the same without hesitation - keeping the door open for people who wanted to walk through.
You knew that support is a forever kind of thing and getting to "know" you through it, is the most beautiful thing.
Thank you for everything and let me tell you one thing:

Because of you there are so many people still crossing the river and at the end of it, feel more alive than ever. 🥹🤍

Finding the perfect harmony. Part 2 of 3 of “This Gift”. 🕊️✨
There is a precise moment during a live duet when you stop thinking about the notes and just feel the connection. Sharing this masterpiece by Glen Hansard with @sindromedisnoopy has been an incredible journey. The way our voices blended together under the sky of the amphitheater is something I will never forget.

🇮🇹 Trovare l’armonia perfetta. Capitolo 2 di 3 di “This Gift”. ❤️‍🔥

Listen closely and drop a “✨” if you can feel the harmony! / Ascolta attentamente e lascia un “✨” nei commenti se hai percepito questa armonia! 👇

"Cause time will stand for something in the end." 🤍

Life still hits different, but knowing you left little notes everywhere you went, turns them into memories closer to the heart you will ever know.
Your way of making sure, you will be remembered not as the one who won an Oscar, but as the person you were is the most beautiful to share. Very few people had something so kind in their eyes as you and you didn't make a big deal out of it. With you not changing who you are, while changing the world, at least the world of so many around the world just shows how easy it is to make kindness rule the world.
With every evening and night I spend with people who feel like family, I can only imagine how much you are missed in everyones life, especially those you were part of for most of your life.
I'm here for all of it and thank you for letting me find a way to heal my heart every word at a time.
You are safe in everyones heart. Forever promised. 🤍

"No more I'll be waiting 'round, while life just passes by" 🤍

As we often don't know who we are, or witch path to go you always reminded us that it's okay to not know. You didn't waste any of your time and if there was a place you haven't felt it - you moved on with your gituar on your back, words on your mind and the desire to make everyone feel like they belong right where they were. As I felt the power of community myself the last two days I can only imagine how much you meant. You did change so much, cause you didn't force it. It was your way to live life and no one shined a light on others so bright as you did. 🤍

I love that you knew how much your smile and talking to people meant to them. You lived your life recognizing everything around you and didn't hesitate to make life easier for everyone. And if it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have been connected at all.
Thank you for sharing.
Not only your life, but everything you had to give. 🤍
