Virtual Reality for #SeniorLiving
Overcoming social isolation through the power of VR and shared experiences.

POSTS STORIES REELS

We are honored to share that Rendever’s Dementia & Empathy Training won GOLD in Senior Housing News’ Product of the Year Awards in the Workforce Management, Staffing & HR Technology category!

This recognition is so meaningful as we are proud to have the opportunity to bring empathy to life through training that is portable, accessible, and tangible. For our senior living partners, care teams, and family caregivers, it’s a chance to better understand the experience of someone living with dementia and carry that understanding into everyday moments of care.

Empathy changes the experience of care. It helps us recognize unmet needs, better understand expressions of distress, and create environments where residents feel more comfortable, confident, and connected. Empathy isn’t just something we feel. It’s something we can learn, practice, and put into action.

A huge congratulations to our incredible Rendever team and the partners who believe in the power of understanding another person’s experience. This GOLD is for all of you! 🏆

We all know that a full calendar doesn’t always equal a thriving community, but how do we actually prove and improve the impact of what we do?

Dive deeper into CommunityOS, a Rendever platform and game-changer for resident experience!

Designed to help operators move from tracking what happened to measuring impact.

-Validated Social Health Scoring: It goes beyond attendance logs. The dashboard identifies residents who are at risk of isolation before disengagement deepens, using data on connections, family outreach, and integration.

-Personalized Connection: It moves from a “one-size-fits-all” calendar to “Social Prescribing.” The platform suggests specific interventions for at-risk residents to ensure they are getting the social interaction they want and need.

-Operational Intelligence: For leadership, it offers portfolio-wide utilization and compliance tracking, proving the ROI of your programming while raising the bar for quality.

Built on a decade of clinical evidence, this platform is bridging the gap between technology and human connection.

Seeing Through Their Eyes. Caring With Greater Empathy 💙

At Scarborough Retirement Residence, our team is experiencing Rendever’s Dementia & Empathy Training through virtual reality (VR), stepping into the world of someone living with cognitive decline. 🥽

By experiencing everyday challenges from a different perspective, our staff can deepen their understanding, strengthen empathy, and provide more compassionate, person-centred care. Because when we change the way we see, we change the way we care. #dementiacare #personcentredcare #scarboroughretirementresidence #liveyourstoryyourway #srrcommunity @rendever.health by @rendever.health

At Rendever, we are always researching the impact of our programming on resident well-being, and the results are compelling.

In just 4 weeks, our data showed:
-67% of residents significantly improved their mental health.
-62% experienced a significant reduction in depression.

Beyond the numbers, residents are reporting feeling more connected, energetic, less anxious, and more emotionally fulfilled after their VR experiences. It’s incredible to see how technology can directly improve quality of life.

How are you seeing innovative tech impact the mental health of your residents? Let’s discuss in the comments. 👇

We are thrilled to officially introduce Nova, an always-on AI Life Enrichment Assistant, to CommunityOS!

This isn’t just about saving time (though it does that, too). Nova adds an intelligence layer to the resident experience, helping engagement teams:

1️⃣ Understand which residents need attention before isolation sets in.
2️⃣ Uncover opportunities for connection based on real data and interests.
3️⃣ Preserve institutional knowledge so new staff can hit the ground running on day one.

As Kyle Rand, our CEO and cofounder, puts it: “We built Nova to help the people responsible for this community experience to understand residents more deeply, notice who may be getting missed, and turn that understanding into something human: an invitation, an introduction, or a meaningful moment together.”

This is a huge step forward for outcomes-driven engagement. Nova is now available to all CommunityOS users.

🎙️ We should not measure the success of a community only by what it provides to residents, but also by the opportunities it creates for residents to contribute.

Senior living communities hold so much more than care. They hold wisdom, lived experiences, relationships, and people who still have so much to give.

My guest today is Rob Liebreich, President and CEO of @goodwinliving Goodwin Living. Rob’s own path into this work began with his grandmother and a desire to replace some of the fear and anxiety around aging with hope and purpose. That personal experience has stayed with him throughout his career and shaped how he thinks about what it means to create community, not only for the people Goodwin Living serves, but for the people around them.

We talk about the connection between cognitive confidence, isolation, and social health, why purpose and agency matter as we age, and what happens when older adults have opportunities to contribute, not just receive care. We also talk about loneliness across generations, the power of intergenerational relationships, and how senior living communities can strengthen social health and belonging far beyond their own walls.

Thank you, Rob, for your thoughtful leadership and for reminding us that older adults have so much to contribute.

Id love for you to listen to this conversation, part of The Future of Community series in partnership with @rendever.health Rendever.

A special thank you to Rendever for partnering with me on The Future of Community series. Through Rendever and CommunityOS, we’re looking at how we can better understand social health, strengthen connection, and help people feel known and part of their community. I’m grateful to be part of this work and to keep these conversations going.

Meaningful moments don’t always happen on a schedule.

We are happy to see our Head of Marketing & Partnerships, Nicole Will, featured in Senior Living News!

In this article, Nicole dives into a topic we are deeply passionate about: moving “beyond the calendar” to crazy truly personalized engagement for residents.

She explores why traditional programming metrics only tell part of the story and how technology can help us understand the social health of our communities. It’s a must-read for anyone looking to build stronger relationships and ensure no resident feels unseen.

It’s time to think beyond the schedule and focus on making every resident feel seen and known.🤍
