πŸ’œπŸ›οΈ OCTOBER CLOTHING DONATION PAUSE! πŸ›οΈπŸ’œ πŸ”οΈ Mount Thriftmore is still standing tall! Thanks to your incredible generosity, we're still working our way through a mountain of clothing donations! Unfortunately, with limited helping hands and a growing backlog, we need to hit the pause button once again. We will NOT be accepting clothing donations for the remainder of October. How can you help? If you have clothing you'd like to donate, please consider holding on to it until our donation pause is lifted, or donating to other local charity thrift stores or organization in need of clothing. All other donation categories are still welcome! πŸ’œ We're so grateful for your generosity, patience, and understanding as our small but mighty team works to get caught up. Thank you for continuing to support our mission and helping us turn secondhand treasures into meaningful community impact! πŸ’œ Retail Therapy KW Thrift Shop Here Support Survivors #RetailTherapyKW #DonationPause #MountThriftmore #KWThrift #ShopForACause #CommunitySupportingCommunity by @retailtherapykw
πŸ’œ WHAT IF YOUR THRIFTING COULD ACTUALLY HELP SOMEONE START OVER? Retail Therapy KW Thrift isn’t just another thrift store. We’re the thrift store that funds the work of the Domestic Violence Victims Alliance (DVVA) β€” a Waterloo Region charity helping survivors of domestic violence rebuild their lives after abuse. And our model is pretty simple: πŸ›οΈ You shop. πŸ“¦ You donate. πŸ’œ Survivors get what they need to start over β€” for FREE. When someone leaves an abusive relationship, they may be leaving behind almost everything they own. Starting over can mean needing an entire home: a bed to sleep in, dishes to eat from, clothing for their children, furniture, linens, small appliances and all the everyday things most of us take for granted. We believe safety shouldn’t come with a price tag. That’s why survivors referred to DVVA can shop with us completely free of charge for the furniture, clothing, household goods and essentials they need to rebuild. And when YOU shop at our thrift store, your purchases help make that possible. So yes β€” come because you love thrifting. Come because you love finding incredible things at incredible prices. Come because buying secondhand keeps great stuff out of landfills. But know that every time you shop here, you’re also helping someone in your own community build a safe new life. πŸ’œ And now there are even more opportunities to shop with purpose because… πŸŽ‰ WE’RE OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK! πŸ“ Retail Therapy KW Thrift / DVVA πŸ•˜ Monday–Friday: 9 AM–7 PM πŸ•™ Saturday–Sunday: 10 AM–6 PM Come thrift. Donate your quality used items. Volunteer. Tell your friends. Because survivors should be rewarded for their courage β€” not punished with poverty. πŸ’œ SHOP HERE. 🚨 CALLING ALL LOCAL BUSINESSES & GENEROUS COMMUNITY MEMBERS! 🚨 Thanks to the RIDICULOUS generosity of our community, we've got a mountain-sized problem on our hands! Our clothing donations are piled almost to the ceiling, and we've officially run out of room to process them! πŸ˜³πŸ‘•πŸ‘— And while we're beyond grateful, we desperately need some help! πŸ’œ WE NEED A STORAGE CONTAINER! πŸ’œ We're looking for a local storage or container company willing to donate or substantially discount a large, weatherproof storage container (ideally 10' Γ— 20' or larger) for approximately 3–6 months. Our dream solution? A container parked right outside our store so our team can temporarily relocate donations, create much-needed workspace, and finally tackle Mount Thriftmore for good! Having storage on-site would also save our charity the significant transportation costs of moving donations back and forth to an off-site storage facility. ✨ NOT A STORAGE COMPANY? YOU CAN STILL HELP! We're also hoping a generous individual or local business might be willing to sponsor the cost of renting a container for us! πŸ’œ As a registered charity, DVVA can provide an official charitable tax receipt for eligible monetary donations. We're open to alternative storage solutions, too! ✨ WHY THIS MATTERS Every donation represents an opportunity to generate funding for our charitable programs and support people in our community. But we can't make that happen if we don't have the physical space to sort, process, and get those donations onto our sales floor! πŸ“£ CAN YOU HELP? OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO CAN? Please DM us or tag a local storage company, business, or generous community member who might be able to help! Even sharing this post could connect us with the solution we desperately need. πŸ’œ Thank you, KW, for your incredible generosity. Now let's conquer Mount Thriftmore together! #MountThriftmore #DVVA #KWAwesome #KitchenerWaterloo #CommunitySupportingCommunity #LocalBusinesses #CharitySupport #StorageContainer #CommunityPartnership by @retailtherapykw
