Happy Women’s History Month! Here are some non-fiction books written by Black women that touch on race, western gender construction, communism, self-healing and community, and anger. Many of these have been former book club reads. Do you see any you recognize 👀

Dropping some fiction recs featuring books about African diasporic religions. This list includes hoodoo focused books so I wanted to make the title a little more inclusive but still representative.

Have you read any of these? #bookrecs #littlemxlibrarian #bookmeme by @revolutionary.reads

It’s the last day of Black History Month so I had to drop some fiction recommendations! Do you see any books that you’ve read? Any of your TBR? What categories do you want to see next?

To see the complete list of book recs with links to support @sankofadc through @bookshop_org, check out the link in my bio!(These are non-commission based links btw).

Assata Shakur’s poetry is one of the things I loved most about her. She had a unique ability to bottle the feeling hope of revolution and change can bring. Her words and her life reflected her commitment and belief that Black people will be free. Rest in power Assata. You died FREE outside of amerikkka. Light peace and progress to your spirit. by @revolutionary.reads

I didn’t expect to post this today but when a revolutionary leaves this world, you must honor them in the best way you know how.

Assata was many things — a poet, mother, author, teacher and of course, a revolutionary. But I’m most thankful for her dreaming. Dreams give us hope and hope is what we need if we’re ever going to end oppression for Black folks and beyond.

Thank you Assata for writing this book. Your life and poetry will forever be in my heart.

Rest in Peace. Rest in Power, Assata. 1947-2025 by @revolutionary.reads

Come read with meeee! It’s all virtual so your location doesn’t matter. HOWEVER WE DO OPERATE IN THE EASTERN TIME ZONE. by @revolutionary.reads

bell hooks’ birthday is coming up soon (we love a Libra queen) so throwing some #AllAboutLove humor on the timeline! Honestly this book is probably my least favorite of hers bc of how heteronormative it is. But it was a great book at 19. #bellhooks #revolutionaryreads #bookhumor #blackbookclubs #blackbookstagram by @revolutionary.reads

Reading with @revolutionary.reads as always 💕 by @revolutionary.reads
