Retro Rides Track Time P.3 🏁

The final collection of the best caught at the @retroridesevents Weekender earlier this year, with yet more stunning shots 🙌 it was an absolute blast as per every year, but the track experience for me personally was easily the best it’s ever been. Everyone from staff, to marshals, to the public made it one to remember.

I needn’t say anymore than let these images do justice for how memorable this year’s event was.

Massive thank you to @kirstyjaynerussell (images 1-5) for these fantastic shots of both me and capturing my @zoemx.5 being the most supportive wingman and co driver there is 😊💕. Can’t thank you enough Kirsty, these are frame worthy shots 🤝

And on topic of that lovely pitside lady, @zoemx.5 grabbing her own snaps (images 6-13) 😍 just grabbing pictures of things naturally happening rather than posing or setting it up, just hits differently sometimes. As seen in this whole collection. Can’t ever be grateful enough for your love and support darling ☺️💕

Retro Rides 2026 Track Time P.1 🚙🏁

As the title says, the next 3 posts will be showing the best that trackside photographers and courteous people caught of me on track at the @retroridesofficial Weekender 🙌 this year was for sure the best the car has performed, some of the best variety in cars at the show and absolutely the most coverage the car itself has had. All of which I have endless gratitude to every person 🤝

Another amazingly run and fluid event, and signing up to the ‘Hitch a Ride’ scheme was one of the best ideas the Retro team has had, and a fantastic experience for me to be a part of 🙌 had around 5 people over the course of Saturday in the passenger seat, all of which were lovely and engaging people, even having some of the @jimmysicedcoffee crew hop in for some laps 🤝 sorry it wasn’t the fastest car out there 😅

Gonna finish off the post by giving appreciation to the photographers in this post. I do have a bunch more from other creators, and that’s why I’m splitting these posts in order to give such appreciation to your work 👏🤝 all are tagged in their respective photos in the lineup, but I still want to thank here:

@jordacriss
@callumnicholls_
@slammed_snaps
@wellchuffedmedia

And my gorgeous @zoemx.5 for her love and being my biggest supporter ☺️💕 pitside, recording and pictures (hers being the first slide 👌), my copilot, my partner in indulgence in the coolest cars 💕

Thank you to all you guys and the @retroridesevents team for another year of the best weekend of the year 👏🤝 see you at The Gathering in August 🙌

2026’s Rear End, Refined 👌

Following the development of the rear of the car, with the custom exhaust and diffuser, I thought to finalise and perfect it, would need some additional bits. Results speak for themselves.

We have the @carbonmiata carbon plate panel, going perfectly in harmony with their rear lights and twinning with the boot lid. Even the weave matches direction 🤝

A product I became recently aware of, is the @rtheorymotorsports Plate Quick Release. These are veeeery desirable, so was lucky to get mine when I did. As shown in the videos it’s a super quick interchangeable system, easiest install ever, and with the show plate I have for the car now, really adds the cherry on top when it comes to static parking on show, or on track. Not to mention blending nicely with the dark tones of the light and carbon too 🙌

Putting together so many parts of this car has been a gamble of hope that I can make them visually look presentable, and I have the competence to make them function in tandem 😅 thankfully, thanks to great quality products and help from amazing people, this is how we’re looking. Absolutely phenomenal 👏

At this point, I’m now very content with how the car is cosmetically. I’ve been upgrading all departments in an unplanned ‘go with the wind’ kind of approach. But now visually, I’m happy for the time being. So we can shift focus. That, I’m yet to decide on what, but as of now, I couldn’t be happier 😊👍🔥

2026’s Rear End 👀🚙

Amongst some small and negligible miscellaneous bits over winter (not including the rust protection programme, well overdue), this was my main goal and refresh.

As probably everyone knows I’ve run the same exhaust (HKS JASMA manifold, decat, Malian centre pipe and backbox) for near enough 4-5 years. It’s served its purpose as Japanese car’s cliche, loud and asbo 😅 the HKS manifold making it almost distinct when on track, not to mention echoing across the entirety of Goodwood. I personally loved its sound, but it was crazily droning, so much bass and probably too loud for its own good. And in the past couple months, had been blowing horrendously, sounding like a lawnmower. It was time for change.

So, I wanted a change, and something different. From reference I gathered amongst some experimentation, this was the idea. Dual exits (these are 3.5 inch, carbon fibre insulated), out the bumper, chop the bottom half off and go with a diffuser to compliment the whole thing. And the execution was phenomenal 👏

It looks this amazing, because of collective efforts from awesome people. @g0dfr33 / @goflex_automotive with the bumper cut and diffuser install, of which he will post his coverage and process on his page which you should heavily support 🙌 @rtheorymotorsports for their sturdy and solid diffuser, crystal clear instructions, adjustability and great look of their V1 🤝 exhaust fabrication courtesy of StyleDynamics (won’t let me tag their page), and their own coverage will come out soon. Without any of them, this look wouldn’t come together and wouldn’t be possible 👏

There’s still things to refine and get to 100% completion of the rear end. Number plate panel as it’s held together by tape, pitch of the diffuser, amongst other small details. But the main foundation and look, is here 😊 all parties involved deserve a massive thank you, and here’s to a hopeful growth of things as the year progresses

🏁🚙💨

Another from @classicjapfest, always astounded by how much fun and consistently flawless the car was this day. Only heightens the hype for what’s to come for this thing 🙌

Big appreciation to @chars_images for this amazing shot. Track and motion shots are easily my favourite. The quality is stunning 🤝

Built for the track 🏁

Casting back a couple months to @classicjapfest in October, it was by far the best track performance and experience I’ve had by far. The car exceeded every expectation, felt like it was on rails, and the event itself was structured and ran so smoothly the whole day 👏

This was the last big show of the year, and since, there’s already been some improvements made and over the course of winter, even more will be made to the car. It’s the most fun I’ve ever had when you have this thing on the edge of grip and 7500rpm 😅 it’s only upwards from here.

Big credit to @candid_connor who provided all these shots over the weekend. Went out of his way to go from trackside, to pitside, and into the parking area to grab what he could. And the results speak for themselves, nothing less than stellar 🤝 so big appreciation to you and your work man!
