DIRTY THREE
-Ulterior motives (Bella Union)
2LP, GREEN / RED VINYLS 39,80 €

Dirty Three announce the release of Ulterior Motives, an album of demos and live radio recordings. Originally available in 2012 as a limited edition CD, sold exclusively at the band's live shows, Ulterior Motives is a rare and revealing glimpse into the early years of Dirty Three, now receiving a welcome new lease of life. Recorded in the band's formative period, these demos and radio performances capture Dirty Three at their most raw, ragged and gloriously unrestrained.
Four of the LP's recordings -- "Sue's Last Ride", "The Last Night", "Everything Is Fucked" and "Indian Love Song" -- were recorded live in the band's small rehearsal space before they made their self-titled debut, as the trio of Warren Ellis, Mick Turner and Jim White worked out the songs in real time. Highly improvised and instinctive, they offer a vivid snapshot of the band's earliest live performances. by @rhythm_records.athens

Queens is rotting from the inside out.
Something unseen is feeding on the city—turning dreamers into sleepwalkers. Whispering of an easier life. A softer life. A life without risk.
But only one can hear the whisper for the lie that it is, and his name is… Biscuit.
A telepathic, super-charged gorilla born from the raw electricity of New York’s public works system, Biscuit stalks the abandoned subway arteries beneath the boroughs, hunting the thing that’s draining hope from the people who need it most. If he can’t stop it, the city doesn’t just fall—it forgets what it is… by @rhythm_records.athens

V/A-THE SONGS OF TONY SLY: A TRIBUTE
(Fat Wreck Chords)
2LP, RE-ISSUE, BLUE VINYL 38,90 €

Tony Sly's sudden death was a massive shock to the punk rock community and deeply affected fans and musicians around the world. Tony touched many people in a variety of ways, but the one manner through which he affected everyone, regardless of their association with him, was his music. After 20 years fronting and writing for seminal punk band No Use For a Name, as well as releasing multiple solo albums, Tony amassed a staggering catalog. Over the course of his career he also shared the stage with, and made fans of, countless musicians and bands. Naturally this presented an opportunity to compile an extraordinary tribute album. With a total of 33 tracks from the likes of Bad Religion, Rise Against, NOFX, Alkaline Trio, and Simple Plan (just to name a few), The Songs of Tony Sly is a testament to how beloved and influential Tony was as a song writer among his contemporaries. What really exalts the compilation is that each of the artists and bands on this album took the time and effort to contribute such meaningful and interesting interpretations of Tony's songs. From Karina Denike's (Dance Hall Crashers) haunting a cappella rendition of "Biggest Lie", to Strung Out's riffed-up speedy version of "Soulmate", to Snuff's Latin Jazz inspired take of "On the Outside", it's clear that no one held back in their approach to putting their signature on these classic songs. The result is transcendent; an homage to the indelible mark Tony Sly left on so many, through the voices of some of the very people he influenced most. Tony would have been proud of this apt tribute and his hundreds of thousands fans will be as well. NEVER FORGET TONY SLY! by @rhythm_records.athens
