A relaxed place and space where we can sit and dive deep into the stories of those that make the music we love. ❤️💃🎊✨️

POSTS STORIES REELS

I thought it would be fun to share some old photos, I don't have many from those days. These were some key moments, the biggest of which was some early advice from my biggest inspiration in writing, Cameron Crowe himself. Which proved to be beyond valuable advice I still write by to this day. ❤️
Chelles Rock blog was the original name of my site before rebranding to RoR.
The interview I did with Orianthi for Guitar Planet was a real moment for me. GP found my writing online and approached me the day before the show, as someone who was heavily inspired by Cameron Crowe and his story depicted in the film Almost Famous. This was akin to my call from Rolling Stone magazine and would later lead me to live the dream and go on tour with my favourite bands, a photo from which can be seen above. ❤️
Whilst it's nice to look back, and I wanted to share some history of this part of my past as I'm realising I've lived many lives, I'm looking forward to this next chapter. Returning to sharing music and its tales through written word in my own space is exciting. There are no editors here to tell me who I can and can't write about or set any rules. This is music journalism with freedom, no boundaries, raring to tell the stories of bands who deserve to have their stories told, and can't afford main features in mainstream press.
Welcome to Rhythm of Red! ✨️☺️✌️❤️

Introducing me, your writer, and editor at Rhythm of Red. ☺️✌️

My name is Chelle, and I am and have always been a passionate music lover. My mother would tell you I only ever stopped crying as a baby when top of the pops was on for half an hour a week. 🤣 I bought my first vinyl at 8 years old. I used to play drums and I have always been a bedroom singer. The joy it brings. ❤️ I would love to make music, but I've never truly given myself the chance, if I'm honest. I've never had the courage. I can write a good poem, though! I have so much respect for all musicians who have had the courage to pour their life and soul into a piece of art and share it with the world.
Music, as I know it is to all of us, has been my main love, lifeline, and friend throughout my life. I think it's the one true universal language that we all speak. It evokes so much thought, feeling, and life to all moments that grace its wonderful presence. It's not just a sound, it's a fucking life force!! One that I believe we all need. Especially now!
The music industry is a tough one to crack, becoming increasingly harder to navigate, and I believe that independent artists don't always get the support they deserve. That's why I started my blog decades ago, and that's why I've resurrected Rhythm of Red. I love music, and I adore and miss writing, so the time is definitely right.
The first feature is underway, and I've never been more excited. I just hope that through writing these pieces and telling the stories of those willing to share, I can create something of beauty that hopefully does justice to each artist and gives them something to share and help expand their own musical journey.
Thank you for being here and for your support. It really does mean the world. Whoop whoop! ❤️☺️✌️

What a night! It was beyond amazing to see @jaythebirdthatsings from @rivalsons perform songs from his absolutely stunning solo album 'Weapons of Beauty' last night.
I loved hearing the stories in between songs, about how the album came to be, the struggles of writing and creating, and it was honest and a beautiful insight into all that it takes.
Jay has always been one of my all-time favourite artists. Vocally, he is an absolute powerhouse and can take the listener on wonderous journeys through lands unknown, but I absolutely adore the way he writes lyrics and the stories he tells. It is so heartfelt and soulful.
If you haven't already, please do give 'Weapons of Beauty a listen. Sublime is an understatement. ❤️✨️

I'd also like to give a big thank you to Jay and @talitatwoshoes ✨️❤️ So wonderful to see you! by @rhythmofredmusic

Merry Christmas, folks! The first for Rhythm of Red! I just wanted to wish you all a brilliant Christmas filled with love, laughter, health, happiness, and light. ❤️✌️
I also wanted to thank you all for being here and your support. It means so much to me. ☺️✨️ 2025 has just been the beginning, and who knows what 2026 holds, but I promise it won't be boring!
Have a wonderful one! ✨️🎄🎊

'Art of the Jam' - Big Sky Orchestra (Link in bio)

This hasn't just been a return to writing. The whole process has been an awakening of my soul! A part of me that lay dormant for so long. From beginning to end, this whole process has been amazing and a real learning curve, especially after a fifteen year break! A massive thanks to @bigskyorchestra for trusting me to tell their story or at least attempt to and for making the time. ❤️

This wouldn't have happened if @cameronbcrowe didn't release his autobiography, 'The Uncool,' and inspire me once more to get back in the saddle and start writing again. ✨️

✨️It's all happening!✨️ My first feature in fifteen years is coming incredibly soon! The piece is in its final stages, which means I will hopefully be publishing this weekend. 🤞
Writing this has brought me to life. It took me a little while to find my writing mojo after so many years, but I got there. I had to remind myself how to write a feature, and after many, many versions, I found my way. ❤️
I don't think I could have ever prepared myself for the levels of happiness and joy I felt, as I've spent countless hours thinking, planning, and creating this piece and now watching it come to life on the page. It feels like I'm back where I'm supposed to be, and maybe I should never have stopped, but at least I found my way again. Everything has its time and place.✨️
Starting a new project is never easy, and I also wanted to say thank you for being here to all that have followed and waited ever so patiently. If you're a fan of music, I hope it will be worth it. As you can hopefully tell, this will be different from any other music publication. I'm really excited! This is my passion project, and I'm really proud of it. ❤️
'Art of the jam' with @bigskyorchestra is incoming very, very soon!
Have a happy Friday, folks. 😊✌️

A clip from the immensely talented and musically gifted @bigskyorchestra on fire during their sell-out London show last night.
Currently taking the UK by storm on their debut tour with their exquisite soundscapes and soaring melodies, Big Sky Orchestra are keeping the flame burning of the jam band scene here in the UK. 🔥
You can catch them tonight in Brighton for the final night of their tour. See them in the small venues while you can. They won't be there for long!
.
Track: Before The Flood - new from their upcoming EP.

Full feature interview coming soon.

So psyched to finally get this in the post today! A true piece of rock journalism history in my eyes.... ❤️

It was a wonderful day at the first Spiral Festival by @realsoundsuk at The Old Church in Stoke Newington. The sun somehow knew she was needed, and it's been a glorious sunny day of music. ☀️
One of my favourite performances of the day was @esmewhite_ I first saw Esme perform at The Spiritual Festival in Camden a year or so ago, so it was really lovely to see her perform in an acoustic setting for a second time today. It was a very different show and one I really resonated with. ☺️
I'd like to thank Esme for taking the time to chat with me today, a totally random stranger, in what felt like a very serendipitous interview that was not planned, but I can't wait to write. ❤️ I'll be aiming to publish in October. Excited! ✨️☀️

I'd like to say a very warm and massive thank you to James, Ben, and Hannah from @bigskyorchestra for chatting with me at their show on Saturday. It was an absolute joy to chat and see you play once more. I can't wait to write and share your story. ☺️✌️

This will mark the first feature on Rhythm of Red in over a decade, and I'm so pleased to feature such an exciting, young, jam band.
Breathing new life into a scene originally founded in the States during the sixties (and still going strong, I may add.) A style pioneered by The Grateful Dead, encouraging complete musical exploration through genres. A rare and enlightening approach to music, one that's so great to see being honoured and explored in the current day and right here in the UK. Exciting!

Scheduled to be published in September.
Coming soon! ✨️
