Which would be worse? To live as a monster, or to die as a good man?

🐈‍⬛ The Legend of the Black Cat – Myogi Shrine, Tokyo

Hidden in the quiet neighbourhood of Komagome, Tokyo, stands Myogi Shrine (妙義神社), a shrine with a story that dates back more than 1,300 years.

But what makes this shrine truly special is the legend of a black cat.

The story goes back to 1477, when a samurai named Ōta Dōkan found himself lost and in danger after a battle. Just when he needed help the most, a mysterious black cat appeared, raising its paw and beckoning him to follow.

The little cat led him to safety. Inspired by this unexpected encounter, Dōkan later regrouped his forces and went on to victory.

Believing the cat was a divine messenger, the shrine became associated with guidance, protection, and good fortune.

Today, Myogi Shrine is home to its unusual Komaneko (狛猫) — guardian cats instead of the traditional guardian lion-dogs found at most Japanese shrines.

A little reminder that sometimes, the smallest companions can lead us through our biggest battles.

A 1,300-year-old shrine, a legendary samurai, and a little black cat that became part of its history. 🖤

Eight years of loving you, being your best friend, and growing up together. We’ve been through so much, and through every change, you’ve remained the person I want by my side.

Now, I get to spend the rest of my life with you. To build a home together, face whatever life brings, and keep choosing each other every day.

If I had to do it all over again, I’d still choose you. No second thoughts.

Eight years down, forever to go.🤍

Cats of soleil on FILM pt. 1 (adopted stray cats)🐱
🎞️ : #dayoff400 @soleilfilmstore

Sky = salah satu dari 5 Anaknya Yupi, heaviest cat we have (9.5kgs), salah satu alpha dirumah (which is aneh banget krn kucing warna putih jarang bgt jadi alpha, menurut di kasta kucing warna putih itu paling rendah) lengket banget ama @sannoctav dan sangat manja😭

Dia super gendut (perutnya). Entah kenapa anaknya dia perawakannya pada gede gede. Yupi ini salah satu kucing yang telah melewati banyak banget perubahan di hidupnya, we love her so much🤗

Bibi = kucing gemoy betina yang gasuka banget sama kucing lain, tapi suka sama manusia, suka naik on my lap, dia punya history dengan livernya yang kurang baik jadi kita selalu kasih dia special care about it, sehat terus ya Bibi💙

John = salah satu dari anaknya bubu yang warna oren, dia pake kaos kaki😂, kucing jantan yang kalem tapi suka usil juga sama betina, dulunya suka dibully Sky, tapi sekarang udah ga berantem. Suka nyapa kalau ada orang pulang🥰

Cilung = salah satu anak dari stray cat betina yang ngelahirin dia didepan rumah (nam by @richardwilssonn
