Five reasons to spend summer at Rickety Bridge

Padel in the sunshine. Play a few sets on the courts, then wander over for something cold.

Stay a little longer. Wake up on the farm, with the mountains for company and nowhere you need to be.

Oysters & Bubbly Fridays. Fresh oysters and chilled bubbly at our wine tasting centre, every Friday until the end of November.

Big Bottle Rosé Saturdays. Share a 3L bottle of chilled rosé with pink snacks at the restaurant on 28 November, 5 December and 12 December.

A new summer menu. Light, seasonal plates at the restaurant, made for long lunches.

Summer is better at Rickety Bridge.

The match is only the beginning.

Once the final point is played, there is no need to rush off. Stay for a glass of wine, something cool to sip, or a little something to snack on, and let the afternoon settle in around you at the padel & social club.

Open Monday to Sunday, 06:00 to 21:00.

Rickety Bridge Oysters & Bubbly Fridays

There is a particular kind of Friday that belongs to summer.

Sun on the vines, the tasting room doors open, bubbly flowing freely and a tray of freshly shucked oysters arriving as the music fills the air.

Foundation Stone Brut Rosé or Blanc de Blanc, poured chilled at R85 a glass or R250 a bottle. Oysters are R35 each for your first five, R30 from the sixth and R25 once you reach a dozen, a gentle nudge to stay a while.

Every Friday through October and November, from 10am to 6pm.

Three rooms, made for staying a while.

Each ensuite room at the Manor House has been dressed with care, all soft linens, deep baths and the kind of quiet that only comes with thick old walls. Wake to light through the shutters, sink into a bath big enough to linger in, and let the rest of the estate wait until you're ready for it.

This is where Winelands mornings begin.

The Manor House is home again.

Fresh from its makeover, our Manor House sits right beside the restaurant and tasting centre, so the day's first pour and a proper breakfast are only ever a few steps from your door. Three ensuite rooms, quiet corners to read in, and a team who'll have a glass of bubbly waiting before you've unpacked.

Come through for breakfast on the veranda, wander back for a tasting next door, then retreat to a lounge that feels like your own. This is Winelands living, done properly.
