Had a chance to start things off recently for the @channelonesoundsystem session here in Winston Salem put on by @arklight_sound_system and @camelcitydubclub Here's a little taste of the proceedings. Give thanks for the chance to warm up the decks. by @riddimmacka
The origin of Riddim Macka Soundsystem... one day I visited an auction house on 75th and Cottage Grove in Chicago. They had a deal that you could buy anything you could carry out the front door for $20. Deep in the back they had this pair of scoops under a pile of clutter. I could get them for $40, but I had to carry each of them across the threshold myself. As you can see, I managed it! I went on to refurbish them, do a few gigs with them and start buying amps and other gear. By the time I got to North Carolina, I met Sean Hennessey, who designed my current rig and taught me how to build. I've since passed these scoops on, but they were the thing that took me from two decades as a reggae DJ into being a soundsystem aficionado. by @riddimmacka
Done! Everything cleaned, labeled, digitized, resleeved and ready to play. Sorry for the braggadocious nature of sharing this stuff, but its also been fun to hear your thoughts and comments. I doubt I'll have another experience like this again. Time to put this stuff to work. by @riddimmacka
It was a blessing to link up with the @arklight_sound_system family and be a part of their journey building a stack. We give thanks for others traveling on the same path and we must not pass up on the opportunity to build together. North Carolina soundsystem business. by @riddimmacka
Bent Back slinging tunes on House of Roots. The water carried the sound really well across the valley and there was a ridge across the lake that was throwing some crazy echo back. Magical way to listen in by @riddimmacka
