The perfect balance of fun and downright creepy

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Madeline Miller is one of my all-time favourite authors, so I was pretty sure I'd love this. Expectations were met. by @rielrosehill

The King in May We Feed The King by Rebecca Perry is somehow the most human King I've come across in fiction. A masterful creation of nuanced characters, with not many words at all. In fact, none of them have a name. Brilliant. 👑 🍐 by @rielrosehill

Good and sacred aren't the same.

Okay, The Salt King by Natasha Pulley was my favourite read this year so far. Beautiful world building and romance, unique magic, and all the rage one can feel against the church.

Leaves you craving mulled wine and hot chocolate. (And possibly Ras Hringen) by @rielrosehill

Playing dress up - I very much want that hat and jacket... by @rielrosehill

Just finished reading Intermezzo. This was my first foray into reading Sally Rooney, and oh was I dreading it. I only heard people say they were disappointed by this book, "Normal People was better" and "one of the narrators is so annoying" and so on. It also isn't what I would've chosen to pick up myself, but that's what amazing friends lending you books are for. Actually loved it. ♟️🐾 by @rielrosehill

$Finished reading The Kingdoms by Natasha Pulley yesterday. The (very cruel) tortoise experiment made my head hurt, because I'm never going to get my head around how time travel works, and also, poor tortoises! And that was but a fraction of the totality of the emotional damage caused by reading this book. When I put it down, I felt like somebody plunged a wooden spoon into my feelings and gave a stir. I was not ready to face the day! 5 stars. 🙌🏻 Now, I want to visit ✨a lighthouse and some ships✨ by @rielrosehill$

So, I might've thrown a much-rejected story at Reedsy Prompts... Ended up shortlisted 🐎✨ by @rielrosehill

A touch late to the party, but I finally read this brilliant new book. It's a real page turner, with characters who feel real and a plot that's both fun and heart-wrenching. It made me shed a few tears - that's 2 out of 2 books by @jay_writes_books guilty of this offence!

Finally finished..!
I like when a fiction book sneaks in a bunch of fun (or just interesting) facts. This one specifically had a lot to say about the history of Cyprus and how to bury a fig tree. Could be useful.
Although, though our Figonysos had a strong start to the year, I think what I need is to read up on how to resurrect a fig tree... by @rielrosehill
