Still building. Still learning.

Quick low-poly blocking of a well in Blender, keeping it simple and clean.
No bevels, just solid normal-based techniques, extra meshes for detail, mirror modifier, texture experiments, copying materials, and understanding the fundamentals.

Focusing on basics. Repeating the process. Getting comfortable with the workflow.

Finally starting to feel at home in Blender… but this is just the beginning. by @riitikmishraart

Switching from Maya to Blender felt familiar… but completely different at the same time.

This render is my first basic exercise - focusing purely on fundamentals like scaling, rotation, extrusion, simple texturing, lighting, and camera setup. Instead of jumping into complex projects, I went back to zero and rebuilt my foundation.

Sometimes the best way forward is to start simple. by @riitikmishraart

Used Maya for 2 years.
Hated sending everything to ZBrush.
Couldn’t vibe with the interface.
Skill issue? Maybe

So I decided to punish myself by learning Blender.

Here’s my first Blender model - an Imperial TIE Fighter
Very basic. Very rough. Very beginner.
But we all start somewhere.

Plan:
- Model every day
- Get better one asset at a time

Bless this journey. Let’s see how long I survive :)

Phew… finally graduated! After days and nights of hard work, I’ve completed my Master’s in Science in Virtual Production & Visual Effects from De Montfort University, Leicester, and by God’s grace, I achieved a distinction!

This journey was no walk in the park, every block brought its own challenges, and this past year had its fair share of ups and downs. But through it all, I was never alone. My family, friends, teachers, and colleagues supported me, encouraged me, and helped me push through even the toughest moments.

This year has also taught me the importance of celebrating the small wins, every little step forward mattered and kept me going. I’m incredibly grateful to God for guiding me and giving me strength, and to everyone who stood by me academically and personally.

This milestone isn’t just about a degree, it’s about perseverance, growth, and faith. Here’s to the hard work, the late nights, the struggles, the lessons, and the victories. Onward to the next chapter! ✨ by @riitikmishraart

Yami no Kekkei (闇の血系) – The Bloodline of Darkness

A tale of a brother and sister, bound by blood yet divided by fate. Set in the Sengoku era of Japan, this concept teaser explores themes of love, betrayal, and the fragile line between light and darkness.

This is a concept brought to life as part of my MSc Virtual Production & Visual Effects dissertation at De Montfort University. Every frame is a blend of storytelling, design, and technology, crafted to imagine what could be.

Grateful to my amazing collaborators who helped breathe life into this vision:

Cast – @earth_quakee & @anie__kapoor - you gave Raikuro and Aiko a soul. Your performances carried the weight of siblinghood, love, and betrayal with such raw honesty.

The moment I stepped into this studio, I knew the journey ahead would be nothing short of magical. Now, with just a few months left in the course, I can truly say it has been transformative. I’ve learned so much; not just about filmmaking, but about myself, and every challenge has shaped me into a better storyteller.

This award means more than recognition; it represents the countless hours of hard work, problem solving, and growth I’ve experienced throughout this journey.

A heartfelt thank you to @dmuleicester and @dmudegreeshow my incredible professors, and my amazing classmates. Your support, guidance, and camaraderie have made these truly the days of my life. by @riitikmishraart
