Wow! 🤩 Thank you to everyone who trusted me to take their portrait 📸 at last Sunday’s @stump_bellavista Community Night! 🪴

This plant backdrop was so dreamy and I felt right at home surrounded by so many lush plants! So hard not to take some extra plant babies 🌱 home with me after the night ended.

August’s Community Night brought together vendors, live musicians and artists, transforming the shop into a neighborhood space that’s needed right now more than ever. One where we can show up, connect and find joy together. 🫶🏼

Deep appreciation goes out to Jess, Allison, Caty, Brett, and Steven (who created several of the amazing plant stands and lamps you can see: @stelampology)! The team has always welcomed me with kindness as a patron and also shared in creating the vision I had for this event!

Shout out to the other wonderful vendors who also made the space so special: @lighthouse.reader ✨ @izq_studio 🌀 + @honeysproutbakedgoods 🍪

Stay tuned 👀 for news about future pop ups and Community Night fun! 💚💚💚 by @riveringhamartist

More organic and non-organic materials in front of an iron door/Philly stoop. Maybe I wanted to create some kind of map of items that feel like home. Photogram double process. by @riveringhamartist

Another photogram experiment, this one using old negatives taken when I was in my college film program. “Answer the Call”, 35mm silver gelatin print, shot in Flagstaff, Arizona, 2008 with photogram necklace overlay.

Using negatives from over 15 years ago served as an interesting tie to the past with the composition and 3D objects speaking to the present. This abandoned phone call box is even more relevant now as society embraces cell phone technology and our digital age additions persist…

I also thought of a surreal element of a ringing phone, (for those who remember sometimes they would ring trying to reach someone who had just called). I thought of who would be on the other line. Or what if future me called myself in 2008.

What would I say? What advice would I give? Would I have answered the phone at all? Would I have been ready to receive the message coming through?

FOR SALE: $100 print only. $200 framed + shipping, if not local to Philly. by @riveringhamartist

Made some cyanotypes with natural materials on pretreated paper this summer in a workshop led by @damagedbug! 💙 Can you guess which one I solarized by taking it back outside and inadvertently flashing it with UV light before processing? 😅

Final product came out kinda ghostly and cool, but a learning process for sure. Thanks @davinciartalliance and Julia for this fun afternoon! 🌿🍂🌾 by @riveringhamartist

Talking with my hands. 🤚🏼Wishing I was in nature as I am most days. Next time I try out this technique I want to bring more detail into the foreground. I do like the way the background feels very dreamlike. by @riveringhamartist

Moon pix, decided to make my own since the real ones never turn out realistic. 😅 Took two film canister lids from the darkroom closet and created a double process to draw out the shapes with a tree photo I took in Philly. Someone told me it’s like the wolf moon that is big on the horizon and then gets smaller as the night goes on. 🌖 Wish we had two moons on our planet like Mars. by @riveringhamartist

Another double process photogram this time with a Monstea leaf 🍃 that was recently pruned from my houseplant! Such a dreamy quality to the tones and textures in this one. Full bleed on RC paper. Hydrangea photo taken in Boston using an orange filter on my trusty Minolta 50mm lens. by @riveringhamartist

Found a handmade doily in storage and figured I’d try out a double process with denser fabric. I put the fabric on the paper first then timed for the negative to “fill in” the details. Second photo shows close up.

I like the texture close up and far away, they bring up different vibes. I appreciate how these small blocks and shapes make up a design and add dimension to the solid shape of the Virgin Mary statue. Photo taken in the Italian Market on 35mm and printed on RC paper (2025).

FOR SALE: $120 print only. $200 framed + shipping, if not local to Philly. by @riveringhamartist

Taking flight. Color negative (2009) developed on RC paper (2026). No other manipulation. This effect happened on film when I was trying to take a shadow pic and birds flew in front of the frame when the shutter went off. Totally accidental and I appreciate how abstract the composition turned out. by @riveringhamartist

Getting lost in the garden at @gardnermuseum 🪴those twin fish fountains are one of my favorite details. Shot on 35mm film, Minolta X-370. by @riveringhamartist
