Should you start your own law firm? Or are you better off working for someone else?

Owning a law firm isn’t just about practicing law. It’s about building a business, managing people, making decisions, taking responsibility, and creating something that can grow beyond you.

And here’s the question most lawyers don’t ask themselves before taking that leap:

Do you actually want to be a business owner, or do you just want to practice law on your own terms?

Those are two very different ambitions.

I’m RJon Robins, co-founder of @howtomanageasmalllawfirm Since 1999, we’ve been helping law firm owners build stronger, faster-growing businesses. Today, we manage over 450 of the fastest-growing law firms in the United States.

Follow me and send me a message. Tell me who you are, why you’re considering starting your own law firm, or what stage of growth your existing firm is in.

We’ve developed a tremendous amount of resources over the years, and I’m happy to share some of them with you for free.

Thinking about starting your own law firm? Or already running one and wondering what it really takes to build a successful business?

Being a great lawyer and being a successful law firm owner are two very different things.

The decisions you make early on can determine whether you build a business that gives you freedom or one that keeps you working around the clock.

You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

And if you’re seeing me for the first time, my name is RJon Robins, and I’m a co-founder of @howtomanageasmalllawfirm

At How To Manage A Small Law Firm, we’ve been helping law firm owners build stronger, faster-growing businesses since 1999. Today, we manage over 450 of the fastest-growing law firms in the United States.

Follow me and send me a message!

Tell me a little about yourself, who you are, why you want to start your own law firm, or, if you’ve already started one, what stage of growth your firm is currently in.

We’ve developed a ton of resources over the years, and I’m happy to share them with you absolutely free.

The most expensive education in business is the one you give yourself by refusing to listen to someone who already knows what you are about to learn the hard way.

Scarcity is a CAUSE. Burnout, bad clients, and flat revenue are the EFFECTS.

Most lawyers run their firms from fear. Fear the client will walk. Fear there aren’t enough cases. Fear the lawyer down the street will undercut them.

So what do they do? Discount their fees. Take C clients because “a fee is a fee.” Say yes to everything and wonder why they’re exhausted and broke.

Lawyers with an abundance mindset know there’s enough. Enough clients. Enough money. Enough opportunity. So they charge what they’re worth, fire the wrong clients, and build systems that let them grow without killing themselves.

You can have excuses or you can have profits. Not both.

AI is not the great equalizer everyone thinks it is. It is the great revealer. And right now it is revealing exactly who can think and who has been pretending to.

Your employees are paying you with the things in their life they can never get back.
Their time. Their effort.Their best years. The very least you can do is give them something worth showing up for.

You don’t need a new business idea to be successful.

And if you’re a small law firm owner, you DEFINITELY don’t need a new, shiny business idea to make your law firm profitable.

The map has already been created.
The mistakes have already been made.
The systems have already been tested.
Other law firm owners have already figured out what works, and what doesn’t.

At @howtomanageasmalllawfirm we’ve spent decades building that map.

Stop wasting time trying to reinvent the wheel.

Schedule a Diagnostic. Find out where you are, what’s holding you back, and what to do next.

Say Diagnostic and I’ll send you the link.
