Travelling Backpacking Travel Asia Island Life Essentials by @roameatrunrepeat

After over 9 months travelling through Europe & Asia this was undoubtedly the best place we have visited.

Onuk Island came as close to paradise as our perception sees it.

Situated in the Balabac islands in the Philippines, this island promises the whitest sand, the clearest water, wildlife and a very warm tent on the beach.

The wildlife included turtles (swimming & besting), stingrays, giant clams, bird life and glowing plankton.

We felt very lucky to experience this with friends @digitalhnm

We went via a tour which is the only option to see this beautiful place. We would highly recommend @balabacgirl - worth every penny! We visited at the end of May hits before the rainy season starts in June but the weather apart from a couple of showers was unreal.

If you want any more details drop us a DM.

Peak, pit & biggest surprise: Taiwan 🇹🇼

Short but sweet and another last minute addition to our trip, we are so glad we visited the gem that is Taiwan 💎 such a varied landscape with extremely welcoming locals, amazing culture & most importantly TONS of cats and excellent vegan food. Our pit is one we really didn’t expect as Taiwan’s industry is so essential to tech these days but it just shows you never know until you visit somewhere. The biggest surprise was also welcome 🐷

An addition to our plans along the way, and one we have no regrets about visiting.

If you’re heading to Taiwan 🇹🇼 get in touch and we can share all we discovered.

Peak, pit & biggest surprise: China 🇨🇳

A country of extreme ups and extreme downs, with major surprises along the way. We genuinely had the most magical time here so it made it reallllly hard to choose specific peaks. It felt like everyday we were experiencing something extraordinary. The pits mainly came from things that were super foreign for us & difficult to adjust to. WeChat will forever be Em’s arch nemesis. But! They were all worth it to experience what we did and we will always be so glad that China was a surprise sidequest for this trip. Swipe for the biggest surprises as usual 👀

Some of our favourites for a country that had it all.

China was big on cultural difference, but big on reward. 10/10 would do it all over again.

Travelling backpacking Travel China by @roameatrunrepeat

We wondered if this place would live up to the hype…

It did- but better. Breathtaking doesn’t cut it: the place feels like magic. Super accessible for all abilities and ages too as there are escalators and lifts built deep into the mountain, invisible to the eye to preserve the stunning environment. It is probably the most accessible natural wonder both of us have ever visited. If you visit China, this has to be on your itinerary.

We couldn’t believe how tranquil this section of the iconic world wonder, the Great Wall of China, was. Keep reading for to get there yourself and save for your next trip ⬇️

🚕 Get a Didi or public transport to Beijingbei (Beijing North) railway station.
🚂 Take the S5 train to Gubeikou railway station. Takes roughly 2.5hrs… nothing worth having comes easy!
🚌 Take the local bus or a taxi (no DiDi avaliable, get your haggle skills out) to East Gate Jinshaling. This is vital - do not go to the central entrance where most drivers will tell you to! Stick to East gate.
🎟️ Buy your ticket for 55Y at the entrance
🚶‍♀️ Begin your walk and head West, enjoying empty walls, plenty of photo opps from aunties and even beer!
🔴 Exit the wall when you are ready. We recommend exiting at central gate as you will find a host of stalls to support to refuel after your hike.

Travelling Travel Backpacking Asia Top Tip Cheat Code by @roameatrunrepeat

Roameatrunrepeat side quest .

When we set out on our travels back in August 25 we had a plan of what countries we were due to visit.

Whilst on the road, circumstances for one particular country changed, a country which we both had desire to explore.

With visa free travel now an option for UK passport holders it only remained a question of when, not if.

Incoming: China 🇨🇳
