“Ancestral Currents” Album Release with @sunpearlmusic
Friday, June 27th - 8:00 PM
@thecedar Cultural Center

From Robert:
here’s a snippet from “night terrors” ahead of the release show this friday. my lolo (grandfather in tagalog) often experiences night terrors, re-experiencing previous traumas from his childhood growing up during world war ii in the northern philippines. as i’ve gotten older, i’ve become aware that i experience some night terrors, as well, and this song is loosely based on that ephemeral, ethereal nightmare state.

don’t let this scare you off - most of the other songs aren’t as intense :) some are based on moments in lolo’s life; others are from mine; and others, like this one are shared in some way.

hope to see you at the cedar this friday - excited share the new music with you live with this incredible band. it has been a true joy hearing it all grow together ❤️

hey everyone,

haven’t shared too much in the way of show promo recently for obvious reasons, but I did want to tell you that @tobyramaswamy and i have a cozy set at @berlinmpls this monday, 3/4 from 7pm to 10pm.

i’ve been really excited about the music we’ve been creating together - really grateful for toby as a human and musical collaborator. think improvised neoclassical, minimalist, drone, electronic, jazz, breakbeat mixture. i’ll do the first solo set, then toby’s solo set, and we’ll close out as a duo.

would love to see you there - if you’ve been looking for a reason to check out the newly opened berlin, this is a good reason to stop by.

no cover; info in link tree.

as always, free palestine. by @robbabobba

Been tooling around with this beloved Frank Ocean tune for a while.

Might leave it up as a work in progress.

Might not.

Regardless - hope you enjoy some of the moments. Much love to the parts of you that are hurting, the parts of you that are healing, and the parts of you that have grown back even stronger ❤️‍🩹 by @robbabobba

prepping for @uzzahofficial and @theyluvchiii at @icehousempls tonight and was was reminded of the iconic piano riff from “listen to your heart” by roxette (tho i was introduced to it via the D.H.T. +. Edmée trance remix in middle school…)

who else remembers this melody from a couple decades back? by @robbabobba

prepping the intro for “first reso” for the next @majmin.majmin show… cedar show is postponed to a future date.

Today’s the big day! Amir ElSaffar and Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch will present Inner Spaces at The Cedar Cultural Center tonight! Toby Ramaswamy and I are opening the night at 7:30pm with duo synth + electronic beats set.

A bit more about Inner Spaces - it features Amir ElSaffar (one of the leading voices blending classical and jazz training with Iraqi maqamat) playing trumpet, santur, and singing with sound artist Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch on electronics for a fusion of electronic, ambient, and Arabic sonic influences.

I hope to see you there - tix are available on The Cedar’s website, and at the door starting at 7pm.

@amirelsaffar_official
@lorenzobianchihoesch
@tobyramaswamy
@thecedar by @robbabobba
