Wash your clothes with the cold program at 30°C (86°F). Todays washing machines are so efficient, that you can wash most of your clothes with the cold program at 30°C (=86°F) or less. In addition your clothes and cloths will last longer, and you save electricity, as you do not have to heat the water! Save money and have a positive effect on your CO2-footprint. Everybody likes ice cream. But we should all switch to cones as they are edible or at least disposable in comparison to plastic bowls and spoons. Pretty simple to use and high value at no costs. Try the app for free: "TAP - Find water anywhere" to find shops and coffee shops, which will refill your water bottle for free Due to name calling, we will mark this as #ad #advertisement even though we are not in touch with the company. We really like the idea though! Bananas and apples produce a gas called “ethylene”, which supports the ripening process of other fruits and vegetables. This is why containerships will only transport bananas and no other fruits with it. Store bananas and apples away from other fruits and vegetables to keep them fresh. On the other hand put a banana next to an unripe fruit to accelerate the ripening process (e.g. Avocado). Collect your organic kitchen waste in a jar to produce your own fertilizer. Collect any vegetable (e.g. potato peels) and fruit leftovers (e.g. apple and banana peels) in a jar or flowerpot. Keep it outside on your balcony. Do not put any citrus fruits (lemons, oranges, limes, etc.) into you jar, as they can turn your soil acidic. Do not put any processed or cooked foods into your jar, as mold can occur, which you do not want in your fertilizer. For weeks now I see masks lying everywhere. As mask littering is under severe fines in many countries (France, UK, Germany, UAE, etc.) you can face up to 300€ of fine for mask littering. You cannot always avoid using the car and people living in remote areas have to rely on one or even two cars. You will find palm oil in many processed foods you buy at the supermarket (e.g. biscuits and cakes). But why avoid it? On the one hand it is not good for your body, as it belongs to the “bad fats” full of saturated fatty acids. On the other hand overexploitation and deforestation takes place in Asian countries to harvest enough palm oil for processed foods.
