🏀 What kind of legacy does Veronica Burton hope the Golden State Valkyries leave behind?

Ahead of the WNBA Finals against the Atlanta Dream, I had the opportunity to ask Burton what standard she hopes this year's team establishes for the players and coaches who will represent Golden State five or 10 years from now.

Her answer? Culture. 💜

It's about more than wins, statistics or championships. It's about caring for one another, believing in your teammates and building something that lasts.

🎥 Watch our excerpt from Wednesday's Valkyries media availability!

📰 My full feature on @veronicaab22, Natalie Nakase, Gabby Williams and the @valkyries' remarkable rise is live on @ThePodiumFinish!

41 but feeling 21. Best of all, celebrated it with family. And look who’s getting stronger, better and living life to his fullest.

Grateful for another new year, even more relived to put 40 behind me. It wasn’t an easy age. But there were good moments.

Looking forward to happier, better times. And hopefully announcing some special projects down the pipeline with my writing career.

Of course, all my favorite moments are with family. But my favorite moments at 40 besides my dad’s bypass being successful and his ongoing recovery starting to have more ups than downs?

@paigebueckers, Alysha Clark and @arike_ogunbowale allowing me to be myself and talk about the tactical side of basketball. I felt respected and seen which is how I always want anyone I talk with to feel like all the time. Thankful for that great conversation.

Of course, talking hoops and the journey of basketball with @jacysheldon is always genuine and heartwarming. She’s worked hard to find a place that’ll let her thrive with what she loves to do.

Ultimately, I’m just so thankful for have my family, friends and colleagues and hoping this new age brings much more happiness. by @robtiongson

"They have multiple things that can hurt you." 🏀

Following Game 1, @ThePodiumFinish’s Conrado Pascual asked Paige Bueckers on the dais about the unique tactical challenges Golden State’s bench unit, specifically Tip Hayes and Caitlyn Chen, brought to the floor with their speed and shot-creation.

Watch to hear Bueckers break down the defensive adjustments needed as the series shifts home to College Park Center for Game 2 on Wednesday!

From 10 wins to a 27–17 finish and a spot in the WNBA Playoffs. 📈 Head Coach Jose Fernandez (@coachjf33) broke down the @dallaswings’ massive 17-game improvement this season and how Paige Bueckers balances her team-first playmaking with taking charge late in games:

"She has an unbelievable trust in her teammates... but she has a huge understanding of what's needed of her and being able to close out games."

At this point, Dad could pass as my brother, a little older or younger! I’d say younger cause he’s got his youthful look once more! We can at least see where I got my looks.

Very thankful for each day Dad survives, lives and works to be stronger and healthier. Hope for more times like these! by @robtiongson

From 2023 to key closing roles in 2026. 📈Following Dallas’ season-ending 103–91 win over Seattle, Awak Kuier and Maddy Siegrist spoke on their growth and readiness for Sunday's playoff opener: 💬

"Just hopefully anywhere the team needs—whether that's rebounding, making shots, defending. I think we both have done a good job all year just being ready for whatever is asked of us." - @maddysiegrist

“No prior shot affects the next one.” 🧠🔥

Following the Dallas Wings' thrilling 87–82 victory over the Mercury, Paige Bueckers sat down with media and broke down her clutch 28-foot step-back jumper in the fourth quarter.

When asked by TPF’s Mason Garcia (@donny_clicks) about her confidence and shot selection, Bueckers highlighted the importance of having a quick memory, trusting the process, and relying on the confidence instilled by her teammates and coaching staff. 🎯

A quick update on my dad: His bypass surgery went well, and he’s now recovering in the ICU. He’s been resting, which is exactly what he needs after a major surgery.

I’m incredibly grateful for the successful surgery and for everyone who has prayed, checked in and kept my family in their thoughts. ❤️

And a photo of me with my Dad that always makes me smile. by @robtiongson

Holding onto moments like this. Visiting Dad tonight meant everything, and hearing him speak from the heart is something I’ll carry with me forever. Tomorrow morning, he goes in for his heart bypass surgery with his doctor and the surgical team.

He’s a fighter, and while the waiting and the worry are heavy, I’m keeping all my faith in his resilience and the hands taking care of him. Looking forward to seeing him in recovery and taking this step by step.

Thank you to everyone who has sent love, prayers, and positive thoughts our way. Please keep keeping my dad and my family in your heart tonight and tomorrow morning. ❤️ by @robtiongson
