Do what you love, love what you do... Blessed to be living this life is an understatement. ♥️

7 clients today, all absolute lads. 💎

I appreciate you all so much. Thank you for the support and keeping my chair busy. Truly. 👊🏽🙏🏽👑 by @rocky.balbarber

Not every day starts the same, but every day ends the same for me....

For my clients, hygiene is guaranteed. A clean, sanitary workspace to sit in, and disinfected tools before every cut. Every single time.

I change my barbercide disinfectant every morning. ✅

I use clean fresh tools for every client. ✅

I disinfect my clippers between every client. ✅

Between every service I reset my station, wash and clean my tools, and chair, and then sweep all the hair away. ✅

My clients get a fresh cape every service. ✅

I would NEVER reuse a razor. EVER. ✅

At the end of every single day, my station is completely deep cleaned from top to bottom. After 10 clients or 1 client, the process is always the same. Every. Single. Day. ✅ 👊🏽

I value every client who supports me, and it will always be my number 1 priority to make sure you guys stay protected from skin infections and other filth. I dont take risks, I dont cut corners. I take pride in what i do. Hygiene is not optional on my station, its the core foundation of it. 💎👑

Day off tomorrow. Back at it Thursday. 🫵🏽✂️✂️✂️

Thank you all for the support. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 by @rocky.balbarber

$Ultimate scumbag moves client edition. Cracking up with my client patrick yesterday talking about this stuff. Wrote this post in Jest 1. Holding the hand mirror to examine your barber cutting /trimming your beard in real time. Never had this but seen it a few times. Ultimate scum bag move. Worthy of an uppercut, hook then a headbutt. 2. Cutting your own fringe to make the haircut last longer. Minor infraction. Befitting punishment = open hand slap to the back of the head. 3. No show. Worst of the worst. Worthy of a soccer kick to the face (downed opponent). Not only did you stitch your barber out of his money, but you also stopped someone else from taking the slot. Double diss. 4. Cancelling the appointment 10 mins before. See number 3. 5. Going to the toilet after the cut to check it properly. Mostly teenagers, not malicious. Arm bar worthy. 6. Not acknowledging your old barber if you change to another in the shop. Straight hammer fist ground and pound. 🔨🔨🔨 7. Waiting for the barber to finish the cut then asking "push the fade a little higher". I think you dont know how hard it is to do a decent fade haha takes way more effort than you think. Especially when you let the man finish the entire thing. I dont think this comes from a bad place tho but its painful for the barber. I reckon its knee to the stomach. 8. Using the barbers tools to do something yourself. Normally accompanied with "can I try?" Had this when i was a trainee 🤣🤣🤣🤣. And have actually seen it in a shop to another barber. Ultimate disrespect. Has to be deserving of the Jorge Masvidal flying knee to the chin. Unforgivable. 9. Standing both feet on the foot rest of the barber chair. The barber hears their chair creaking like the may flower. Liver shot. 10. Asks for a coffee. Barber makes it. Client doesnt even drink it. Wasted time and effort wrestling with a coffee machine. Minor infraction. calf kick 70% power 11. Showing up the appointment sick as a dog. Atrocious behaviour. Asking your barber to give you a beard trim while your sneeeeezing all over the gaff. 100% worthy of a Triangle choke Atrocious conduct. Dont be that guy or prepare to throw h by @rocky.balbarber$

Worst client ever. 🤡

Always books last appointment on a sunday night at 8pm after laying in bed all day.

Favourite artist is DJ snake.

Always complains its too short even if you cut like a 0.1cm off.

Called me chopped.

Mocked my coworkers.

Kids these days. Should charge them more, not less.

Only joking. Hes a good lad. 👊🏽👊🏽💎 by @rocky.balbarber

Bieber to Brad pitt. I think we sorted him out. 💥

And some gained some interesting knowledge about hair transplants from these 2 gents.

Another great day chopping lids. 💈✂️

Working tomorrow, saturday and sunday! ✅

Book ahead!!!!! 💎🫵🏽

Things every barber loves to hear....

1 "Same as usual."
Great to hear from a regular, gets easier every time!.
Not great to hear from someone you cut 6 months ago. 🤣

2 "Do what you want" or "You decide"

Creative freedom is beautiful, and it feels great to know someone trusts your knowledge and recommendations.

3 "I trust you"
(under 16 y.o clients will say "I trust you with my life!" 😭🤣)

When a regular says this, you know youve delivered consistently over an extended period of time!

4. "Take your time"
Love not having a time pressure to enjoy the service.

5. "My friend recommended you!"
The ultimate respect! 👏🏽👏🏽

6. "See you in 2/3/4 weeks!"
Every barber loves a client who gets his haircut regularly. Great advert for your haircuts, them walking around fresh!!

5. "This is for you"
Never expected, but always appreciated. ♥️

6. "Perfect"
You can tell when someone loves their cut, not by what they say but how they say it. If you like your barbers work, let them know. They appreciate it.

Thank you to all my clients, love all you guys. I have the best clientele. 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽🫅🏽💎🫵🏽🫵🏽🫵🏽 by @rocky.balbarber

My client asked me what side burns meant earlier, which got me thinking how much of what barbers say isnt understood by clients

Heres barber lingo 101 and some stuff i think gets lost in translation between clients/barber. Simply put

1. Taper.

If your barber asks do you want your side burns or neck line tapered, they basically mean faded away the edges to skin.

2. "Texture"

Choppy/messy/spiky hair rather than flat

3. Clients " I have a number 2/3 fade "

A fade is either skin, zero or 0.5 as the main length.

If you ask for a fade your barber may think you mean a very short haircut. If you want a number 2/3/4, but want to ask for a smoother transition to the top length ask for it to be blended.

4. "How do you want your neckline?"

The answer is always tapered. Looks 100x better
Grows out way better.

5. "clippers"

Meaning: The buzzing shaving machine instead of scissors

6. "Do you want this disconnected or connected?"

Connection and disconnection in hair are just fancy words for how the top of your hair meets the sides.

In a connected haircut, the long hair on top blends smoothly into the short hair on the sides. There are no sudden steps or cliffs. In a disconnected haircut the hair hangs over the sides like a cliff. The 2 lengths dont blend together.

7. Lining up.

The barbers going around the edges of your haircut with a razor to make the lines extra sharp.

8. Bulk

Thickness and weight of your hair

Theres probably more but these are ones ive overheard recently. Any ive missed just let me know!!
