I walked into Greenwood Rising with curiosity. I walked out with a heavier heart and a deeper sense of responsibility. Seeing the story of Black Wall Street brought pride, grief, and purpose into the same room. Our people built businesses, created opportunity, and invested in one another. Sitting with what was destroyed—and what families lost—was sobering. As a Black entrepreneur and leader, this visit hit home. It made me think about what I’m building, who benefits from it, and what will remain for the next generation. I left more committed to supporting Black-owned businesses, opening doors for others, and making sure these stories continue to be told. Remember the past. Invest in the future. 🖤 #GreenwoodRising #BlackWallStreet #Tulsa #BlackHistory #BlackEntrepreneurship Legacy by @rodericklbrown

We're extremely proud to share the news that Winston-Salem is getting a new clinic that provides affordable healthcare 💙 Twenty-two years ago, this started in Waughtown. @neighbors4betterneighborhoods and six neighborhood associations looked around and decided the families here deserved better access to healthcare. Not eventually. Now. That decision became United Health Centers. Today we're Forsyth County's only Federally Qualified Health Center, serving thousands of families every year. Medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy. No insurance required. Nobody gets turned away. This space means shorter waits for families who've waited long enough. More providers in this community. Everything under one roof instead of driving across town for four different appointments. A special thank you to our elected officials, our board of directors, our funders and investors, our community and advocacy partners, our education partners, our county and state agency partners, our fellow health centers, and every business and design partner who helped bring this space to life. Thank you for showing up. Now let's get to work. 💙 #WinstonSalem #Community #ForsythCounty #GrandOpening #Healthcare by @rodericklbrown
On behalf of the United Health Centers Board of Directors, leadership team, and incredible staff, we simply say thank you for all of the well wishes, text messages, calls and kind words. Yesterday‘s grand opening of our new 8500 square-foot, 18 medical/dental exam rooms, Behavioral Health, and Pharmacy facility was monumental. What we do is mission driven, and community based. It is truly a labor of love. If you get a chance, come by and see us sometime in Winston-Salem. I send you blessings. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 @highlight @uhcws by @rodericklbrown
Access to healthcare shouldn’t depend on your ZIP code, your insurance card, or your ability to pay. Today I had the privilege of celebrating the grand opening of United Health Centers’ newest location in Winston-Salem. This is more than another building. It’s another step toward making quality medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services accessible to the people who need them most. I’m honored to serve on the Board of Directors and grateful to everyone whose vision, persistence, and partnership made this day possible. Communities thrive when healthcare is close to home. Here’s to healthier neighborhoods, stronger families, and a future where everyone has access to the care they deserve. 💙💚 #UnitedHealthCenters #CommunityHealth #HealthcareAccess #WinstonSalem #BoardService HealthEquity CommunityImpact by @rodericklbrown
Partnership is powerful when it’s built on purpose. This week we had the opportunity to go behind the scenes with our Title Sponsor, @unitedhealthcentersws and see firsthand the incredible work they’re doing every day to build healthier communities. From primary care and dental services to behavioral health and affordable, patient-centered care, they’re creating access to quality healthcare for individuals and families throughout our community—regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. That’s a mission we can stand behind. The AWOL Warrior Run is about more than crossing a finish line. It’s about creating a healthier, stronger community. That’s why we’re proud to have United Health Centers leading the way as our Title Sponsor. Thank you to the entire UHC team for opening your doors and allowing us to see your mission in action. Stronger people. Healthier communities. One partnership at a time. #AWOLWarriorRun #UnitedHealthCenters by @rodericklbrown
WHEN… THEN. I’ve been sitting with that lately. A lot of life shows up as a when. When you get the diagnosis. When the doctor gives you the report. When the X-ray shows arthritis in your hip, bone spurs, and cartilage that’s been wearing down. When your body reminds you that you’re not 25 anymore. When something happens that you didn’t ask for, didn’t plan for, and definitely didn’t want. That’s the when. But the power is in the then. I’ll be honest, I had my little pity party. I thought about what this means. I thought about what I may not be able to do the same way anymore. And I also thought about friends and family who are dealing with much more serious situations than mine. I’ve been praying for them, encouraging them, speaking life over them. Then it hit me. Now it’s my turn. I had to ask myself a real question: Am I going to believe in the doctor’s version of my then, or am I going to believe in the faith God gave me for my then? The diagnosis may explain what’s happening, but it doesn’t get to define what happens next. I can’t always control the when. But I can control the then. So today, my then was a 45-minute bike ride. Not because I’m ignoring reality. Not because I don’t respect what the doctor said. But because I refuse to let a diagnosis become my identity. When something happens, then you have to decide what you believe. When life shifts, then you have to decide how you respond. When the report isn’t what you wanted, then you have to decide whether you’re going to shrink, sit still, or keep moving with wisdom and faith. Everybody gets a when. The question is: what will your then be? Mine is faith. Mine is movement. Mine is discipline. Mine is adjustment, not surrender. WHEN… THEN. #FaithOverFear #KeepMoving #WhenThen #Discipline #Mindset StillWorking GodsGotMe by @rodericklbrown
