This weekend, some of our Rogues headed to Rüsselsheim near Frankfurt for the Born2Brick exhibition, and what a fantastic event it was! Held in the town’s theater, our friends from @born2brick_ev put on a truly impressive show. In the photos, you can see @jakob_koenig_05 standing proudly next to his intricate harbor module – sporting his cool matching Rogue Francisco collab shirt – along with a few of his other fabulous builds that were on display. We were also blown away by the massive, intricate microscale city brought by Brixe, including her model of the Frauenkirche in Dresden. The level of detail is just incredible! A huge thank you to the Born2Brick team for organizing such a wonderful event and for having us. It was a pleasure to be part of it! — #RogueBricks #legofanevent #legocommunity #afol #legoexhibition by @roguebricks_lug
Here’s a closer look at my contribution to „Rogue Francisco“, our latest @roguebricks_lug collab. It features two of San Francisco’s most iconic architectural landmarks: the Transamerica Pyramid and the Sentinel Building (Columbus Tower). Completed in 1972, the Transamerica Pyramid’s shape is a defining element of the city’s skyline. At over 1.40 m, my model stood as the tallest point in the entire layout. Primary challenges included replicating the tapering geometry, the intricate structural bracing at the base, and achieving the little spacing between the window rows. Located nearby, the historic, wedge-shaped Sentinel Building was completed in 1907. It is famously linked to cinematic history, having once housed the production offices of Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas. It was a privilege to build these structures for our collaborative display at Bricking Bavaria, where 30 builders came together to capture the spirit of this legendary city. — #LegoArchitecture #RogueBricks #SanFrancisco #TransamericaPyramid #LegoCity by @roguebricks_lug
Step back in time to the swinging 60s and 70s with our latest collaborative masterpiece, Rogue Francisco! Bringing together 30 passionate builders, we recreated the iconic „City by the Bay“ in miniature, featuring over 3 meters of Golden Gate Bridge, bustling cable cars, the historic Alcatraz, a towering 1.40m tall Transamerica Pyramid, and detailed districts from the Painted Ladies to Fisherman’s Wharf. More than just a cityscape, this project served as an educational canvas, capturing the vibrant spirit, counterculture, and cinematic history of San Francisco through intricate details and over 50 classic vehicles. Exclusively displayed at Bricking Bavaria in Friedrichshafen, the collaboration was a hit with the public and the participants alike. Many thanks to everyone involved! — #RogueBricks #legocollab #legocitylayout #lego_hub #sanfrancisco by @roguebricks_lug
