Week in Milan! It was so special seeing Eddie shine at his first Olympic Winter Games! Nothing made me happier than seeing him enjoy every second and light up the Olympics with his smile ✨ …and as a Dutchie, of course I had to watch some long track speed skating too! So cool seeing a Dutch gold and silver and an Olympic record being set 🇳🇱✨ by @roosvdpas

A little while ago, I quietly skated my last competition as a single skater in Poland! A moment I had imagined so many times, but never like this. I held onto these photos for a bit… mostly because I needed time to let the reality settle. This final chapter didn’t look the way I always dreamed it would. Because of my injury, I couldn’t train the way I used to, the way that made me feel strong, prepared, and ready. The pain changed everything. Accepting that I couldn’t prepare like before, and that this would truly be my last time skating the way I love, was heartbreaking in ways I wasn’t ready for. And still… somehow… with whatever strength I had left, I finished with a 3rd place and a 113.13. A number that now means much more than just a score. 🥉❄️ Before stepping on the ice, I completely broke down. I doubted myself, stressed about all the wrong things, and forgot, even for a moment, that this was supposed to be my last skate to simply feel free. To enjoy what I love, one last time. If it weren’t for my mum(@liesje137 ) and my boyfriend(@ed_applebyskater ), grounding me, lifting me, reminding me who I am… I’m not sure I would’ve made it onto the ice at all. I love you both!! And then there is @maxxxnik , my new coach. Thank you for guiding me through a transition I never imagined would be this hard. Accepting the end of something that shaped me for so many years has been painful, confusing, emotional… but your support has helped me find peace in it, little by little. Stepping away from singles is bittersweet, a beautiful chapter ending before I felt ready. But the page is turning, and I’m ready to step into my next story: ice dance. A new world, new goals, new dreams… and soon, hopefully, a partner who shares them with me. ⛸️✨ Here’s to the endings we don’t expect, and the beginnings we grow into. Thank you @admczakworks for the beautiful photos!!!🫶🏻 by @roosvdpas

Just a little moment for the sweetest guy in the world 🥹 I know it’s not always easy, but you should be so proud of yourself for all the effort you put in and how much you’ve grown. It’s never just about the results — it’s about the journey, the dedication, and the way you carry yourself through it all. I’m so proud of you, Eddie, and so lucky to have you in my life <3 Keep your head up, my love — you’re stronger and more incredible than you know ❤️ by @roosvdpas
