Peace can feel like a big, distant word when life is loud. This is a short look at what Jesus meant when He spoke about it, and where it starts. Save this for a day you need it, and send it to someone who could use a reminder of God's peace. by @rootedfaithnetwork

Jesus spoke these words in John 14 to friends who were about to face one of the hardest seasons of their lives. If your heart feels troubled today, try reading the chapter slowly, out loud if you can.

Psalm 51 was written by a man who had really messed up. We're talking adultery, cover-up, murder-level mess. And yet it's one of the most honest, beautiful prayers in all of Scripture.

David didn't try to clean himself up before going to God. He went to God from the middle of the mess.

Go to God first. Not after you've figured it out. Now, exactly as you are.

Sound familiar? That's regret doing what it does. Surfacing every time things go quiet.

The good news: regret is a symptom. Deal with the cause, and it loses its grip.
