Hello family, friends, and locals in the community!!

We are looking for anyone who has pumpkins they no longer want or need. We can use them for our compost and for animals! We will be accepting them all month long! 🤍

Let me know if I can pick them up locally or you can drop them off to us. We appreciate you!

Dinner the other night was Gnocci with chicken meatballs in my Sun Gold tomato sauce!

It was creamy, flavorful, so delicious + fresh!! ✨
When I harvested my tomatoes a while back, I made a large batch of sun gold tomato sauce and froze it in quart size batches. It made it easy to use for dinners!

Well that’s what I did. I added some heavy cream, parm, and more fresh basil and omg it was delicious!! 🤤
My friend said it was the best meal!

Don’t sleep on my mini sun gold tomatoes!! 🍅
They are amazing for snacking, but even better pasta sauce!!

I would always tell him about my dreams of owning land, having all the animals, and growing my own food as teenagers. Although it was never in his plans, here he is seeding the land and making all my dreams come true. 😭 He truly enjoys it, who would’ve thought 🥹❤️‍🔥

Seeding the Land | Husband of the Century | Farm Life by @rootedonsixacres

One of my favorite little garden hacks we learned 🌼✨

Before you toss those dried-up marigold blooms… save them! Each dead flower is packed with seeds you can dry, store, and plant again next season. Basically free flowers forever. 🤎

I love learning simple ways to make the garden stretch a little further.

We did so much yard maintenance this weekend and totally failed at filming all of it 😅

I had to take a step back and truly enjoy the life we’re creating. My husband and I working on mulch/the garden together, our youngest napping in the hammock, and the two older kids ripping on the dirt bike track!! What a life 🤍

I trimmed the tomatoes 🍅 they are well over 6ft tall!!
We mulched the heck out of our property!
Cleaned up the pumpkin patch 🎃
Definitely forcing ourselves to pull any weeds as we go out from now on! After all that rain, we got an insane amount of goat heads!

So much to do, so much planned!
Next big thing is get timers for our water system. We just need 5 of them so that gets costly 🙃
And order our bulk seed to hopefully out weigh the goat heads! And prepare for our farm animals 🌾🚜🐐🐓🐖🐄

I have our fall garden mapped out!
Starting seeds today, and direct sowing some this week now that it is cooling down!

Finally getting a rhythm and realizing things we will do differently next year/next season! 🌾

Cheers to never ending work! ✨

Last nights harvest! The peppers are coming in hot! 🌶️🫑

Came back from vacation (two weekend trips back to back actually) and immediately into our chores.

Two branches recently fell, Steven cut one already since it was blocking one of our roads. And today he cut down the other. Moved mulch, checked on our plants. We had a rain while we were gone and luckily watered everything!!

Checked on our plants and found out:
my tomatoes need so much love 🍅
watermelons got eaten by coyotes 🍉
weeds need to be managed!! 🌾
the rain did our garden right 🤩

Nothing crazy, but normal maintenance!
We’re still here! Cannot wait to start our fall garden, it’s just been way too hot to start. We started our plans. Fall Garden Happening Soon! 🪏 🤍🫶🏼

Tomato Chronicles 🍅
Since we have an abundance, I’d thought I’d keep sharing with you all the ways we use them 😆

Over the weekend was yummy heirloom tomatoes on BLT’s with homemade sourdough I made as well 😋

I love tomatoes! What’s your favorite way to eat them?

Heirlooms are good with just olive oil, flaky sea salt, fresh cracked pepper and a dash of balsamic vinegar!

But adding mozzarella, fresh basil, balsamic glaze is chefs kiss! 💋

Nothing like a porch rinse off. Everything gets so dusty!

Nothing better than seeing the bannetons full and knowing fresh sourdough is about to hit the oven. 🤎🥖

A little flour, a little patience, and a whole lot of love going into today’s loaves.

20.5 pounds of tomatoes from our garden!! 🍅🤎

Seeing everything laid out after harvest made me stop for a second and realize how far this garden has come. From tiny plants to buckets full of Sun Golds, San Marzanos, heirlooms, and more — this is exactly why we started growing our own food.

Now comes the fun part… eating, sharing, and preserving it all. 🌿
