โ€œIt was a beautiful bright autumn day, with air like cider and a sky so blue you could drown in it.โ€ The storms of the past week have moved on and it's a beautiful sun filled morning!๐ŸŒž How is everyone doing? ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚Are we still basking in the Autumn glow, or are thoughts of Christmas sneaking in with all the stores loading up and displaying their goods with the hopeful enticement?๐Ÿซฃ๐ŸŽ„ I'm still very much enjoying this time. It is after all such a colorful and crisp change as all Autumns bring. ๐Ÿ˜Š It's Monday but no Monday blues here! Having the sunshine is always uplifting! Have a very blessed day all! Life's experiences. We all have them. Some good, some bad and then there's the ones that really stand out. When my family moved to Taiwan for my father's work, it was a move that brought wonderful memories of the landscape, the culture and especially the people. On Sunday's we had a tradition of an "After church" lunch at our favorite local restaurant and a warm, wonderful older missionary woman would often join us and even in my 8yr old mind, the friendly, kind and interesting conversations with her stuck with me. There was no "children are seen and not heard" treatment there. ๐Ÿ˜ It wasn't until we moved back to Hawai'i and I happened upon a movie called "The Inn of the Sixth Happiness" that my mother informed me that it was about this woman's life. ๐Ÿ˜ณ To say I was dumbfounded is an understatement! Gladys Aylward had led on foot, over 100 Chinese children across the mountains away from enemy lines in wartime China! If you've never heard of her story, I encourage you to watch the movie if available ( According to Gladys it is of course a Hollywood version-Ingrid Bergman stars as Gladys), or order the book. She spent her life doing God's work. A true Angel.๐Ÿ˜‡ It's a story worth reading, and a life experience I'll never forget! My only regret is that I wasn't old enough to comprehend this, and able to truly listen and ask questions. ๐Ÿ˜‚โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ It's Friyay! Hope you all have a blessed and safe weekend. Welcome October!๐Ÿ The saying "It's all in the details" is true. Details to me are what define intention.๐Ÿ’ซ Whether in your home, your mind and especially how you choose to live your life. Details don't need to be grand, they will always be noticed. ๐Ÿ’ซ Even if this post and especially its message, doesn't draw an audience, doesn't draw numerous "likes"....I know the intention is good, and that ultimately is what counts.๐Ÿฅฐ What do details mean to you? Happy October and Friyay everyone! September flew by and now we are officially into Autumn! Have a great day! I took this photo to highlight that Autumn is beginning to make an appearance here in my home๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚...As I looked at the image, I found it to actually be fitting in with the heaviness in my heart for my beloved islands that are once again in the path of destructive hurricanes ( this one also carrying actual tornados!๐Ÿฅบ) With that being said, I'm praying that lives will be spared, because they can never be repaired nor rebuilt.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผโค๏ธ #onipaa * * * * #godsmercy #vignettes #falldecorinspo #littlehomeglowup by @rosethorn_cottage

The kick-off to Autumn has begun! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸผThoughts of cooler weather, cozy layered nooks, pumpkin spice lattes, and of course the upcoming changes in and around my home have me charged with excitement for the upcoming season of Autumn!๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚ I've been holding back on decorating, but now.... I'll be spending this week pulling out bins and like the changing leaves, Summer decor will transition to Autumn!๐Ÿ˜ Have you begun your seasonal decor or enjoying the last bits of Summer? โ€œI must have flowers, always, and always.โ€ - Claude Monet Doesn't matter what kind, color, size or Season... flowers are always going to be a part of my life. ๐Ÿ’ I envy those who can grow the varieties that our Arizona weather would fry... The tropicals that wouldn't survive a minute in the dry desert... and the numerous wildflowers that throw caution to the wind across the many landscapes here in the USA and beyond , yet wouldn't survive one Summer here.๐Ÿ˜† Yet even with all that, I can still find and enjoy those that do whether by growing my own or found at the local market. Flowers. ๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒท๐Ÿ’ They will always find a place in my home.๐Ÿฅฐ How about you? Do you fill your home with flowers and which ones are your favorites? There's no place like home. ๐Ÿก๐Ÿฅฐ Back from a weekend in Salt Lake City. Love it up there, and got my first ride in ๐Ÿ๏ธ๐Ÿ๏ธof the year with Mr. J....to say it was nice is half true. Even leaving early, the last 2 hrs ( A 6 hr. journey) were brutal with the sweltering heat!๐Ÿฅต The return, with only the last hr being "brutal" was a welcome reprieve and as always it's nice to get away, but Home is Home! โค๏ธ Taking it easy today. Have my cup of tea, and finished watching " The Five Star Weekend" . For those who haven't yet seen it...it's a must! LOVED it, and the house is swoon worthy! Thinking that might have to be my next read!๐Ÿ“•๐Ÿ˜ How was everyone's weekend and are any of you reading a great book? Would love any recommendations! Have an awesome Monday and great new week all! After the storm... An early morning thunderstorm rolled in around 1:30 a.m. The thunder and lightening were so intense, it woke me up and I did my usual walk through to make sure everything was secure. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ Won't complain, since we need the rain, my garden gets watered and it cools things down.๐ŸŒฑ Enjoying my first cup of tea to a now day, full of sunshine.๐ŸŒžโ˜•๏ธ Hope you all have a very blessed day.
