In early 2026, the BBC reported that TikTok had 3.3 million posts tagged #gardening, an increase of 50 percent in 12 months. And some of its most-clicked content is fronted by the “hot gardener” type: soft boys preaching the beauty and primitive power of the earth. Josh O’Connor grows rhubarb in his Cotswolds yard, and fashion houses have also been getting their hands dirty. As creative director of Dior, Jonathan Anderson has looked as far as the garden gate: ladybugs, greenery, and cultivated flowers recur throughout his vision for the house. And when his namesake brand relaunched last year, antique pruning shears and spades became a focus of its new proposition. This sits alongside Chanel’s Spring 2026 couture toadstool heels, Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu Fall 2026 runways framed by moss, and Thevxlley’s Fall 2026 collection of earthy corsetry sprouting plant life. At the link in bio, @rossaston explores what’s buried beneath the blossoming trend. by @rossaston
