It was awesome having Kevin out. He’s been a ninja since I first me him over a decade ago and I knew he was going to show us some slick stuff. by @rubenrivera10p

We won one and we lost some but we lived, we lived to fight another day! Really proud of these boys for making the walk today and really proud of all their teammates who showed up to help them and support them, so pictured and some not pictured. Thank you to Nic and the @nowhere.to.run promotion for making these experiences possible. Until the next one, we’ll keep learning and improving at the lab. OSU! by @rubenrivera10p

Last full sparring session for the boys fighting next weekend. A big thank you to Joseph over @elcolorado.mmaboxing for letting use his ring and his facility to prepare these boys for their upcoming bouts. Onward and upward! by @rubenrivera10p

Honored to have received my 3rd Degree from Sensei @eddiebravo10p last night. Grateful to the boys who joined me on this trip and to all the savages I had the opportunity of training with while I was out here in LA and for my wife who held down the fort while I was gone. Hallelujah. God has been good to me. by @rubenrivera10p

Yesterday we had our annual 10th Planet Santa Fe Water Gun Fight. The kids had a blast and the parents were also happy to have kids that were absolutely spent for bedtime. 😂 Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible for our community. We are so grateful for our community. by @rubenrivera10p

Thanks to @tedpphoto filming I’m able to share this sequence online. In the video you can see how James is looking to counter with leg locks and octopus, which he often uses successfully against me. We know each other’s game pretty well so I had to use a variety of techniques to complete the back take. I’ve been using the threat of a seated head & arm choke to stop the counters and buy myself time to complete the back take. I think it’s a great way to stop opponents from thinking offensively and make the back takes a bit easier. I hope James doesn’t mind me using him for this example. Let me know what you guys call the choke. by @rubenrivera10p

Same same, but different. Three years between orange and blue, yet time doesn’t matter. I’m incredibly proud of this lineage, and being personally stamped by Sensei Duane himself is a true privilege.
Thank you, Sensei Duane and Sensei Bas, for sharing the art. by @rubenrivera10p

Today I had the pleasure of promoting these 2 ninjas with their yellow belt in Bang Muay Thai. Cody is off to the Air Force in a few weeks and I wanted to make sure we sent him off with his well deserved promotion. Ellias had the privilege of receiving his in Denver by Sensei Duane himself but today I gave him his belt. All the best to these 2 ninjas. Proud to call them Bang Muay Thai Santa Fe. by @rubenrivera10p
