POSTS STORIES REELS

Last spring, my family (minus our oldest who was away at college) had a unique opportunity to be on a reality TV show. We spent 4 days backpacking and competing in challenges in the rugged desert of Baja Mexico.

We weren’t allowed to take our phones or any other technologies. We were completely unplugged and totally immersed in nature and focused on our family. We grew closer and connected deeply. We got to film alongside some really cool families and witness how TV magic is made. Our filming crew was amazing and very supportive.

I’ll never forget these experiences! Pitching a tent on the beach and falling asleep listening to the waves. Finding unbroken seashells the size of our palm. Stumbling across exoskeletons of sea creatures that were washed ashore. Kayaking in the open Sea of Cortez and Skipping rocks into the sunset on a deserted beach.

If someone were to ask me (albeit 9 months later) if we would do it again…I’d say YES in a heartbeat! The experiences we had as a family were immeasurable. I wish every family could experience being on @survivalists_byutv .

We’ve been anxiously waiting to see how our adventure plays out! This Sunday, January 15th Survivalists season 3 premieres! We plan to watch every episode to see how other families experienced their adventure. Our episode will air on February 19th at 7pm MST on BYUTV. Set your DVR’s or download the BYUTV app to find episodes on demand after they air. Link in my bio.

I’m chasing all the wildflowers! I just can’t get enough! I explored @brightonresort today and planned to hit the three sister lakes. Mary, Martha and Catherine with some of my favorite peaks in the background Mt. Millicent, Mt. Tuscarora and Sunset Peak. I decided on a whim to try a different trail back and make it a loop. I discovered another mountain lake. Twin Lakes makes 4 in one day! 😁 #trailrunning #mountains #lake #wildflowers #blissfulday

Playing a little insta catch up… Parker’s senior year of high school I bribed him with a trip to Disneyland for every semester he pulled at 3.0 GPA. #iykyk He did it in his last semester! 👏 So in July, we celebrated at Disney and brought along his best bud and cousin @gavin_ledgerr ! #celebratehappy #disneyland

Did I also mention he turned

Parker’s graduation day!! It was long awaited and highly anticipated. This little dude has disliked school for as long as any of us can remember. Kudos to @thekileyg for holding him accountable to get him to this point. #bestdad. It was such a great moment to watch him get his diploma. 🥹 Truly a great day! ❤️#nomoreschool #BHS #classof2026 #ParkyG by @runningchik365

My baby girl @_sydney__jones_ moved to Arizona a year ago. It’s been far too long since we’ve all been together. We spent fall break visiting her! @tarynkalyse and @peterseemcminn joined us too! Lots of new memories made hiking, swimming, playing games, family pics in the Sonoran desert 🌵 and trying all the ice cream Scottsdale has to offer. 😂 #familyiseverything by @runningchik365
