It makes me so happy to announce that registration for the 2027 Running Up For Air Malans Peak race opens TOMORROW!

February 19th & 20th, we’re heading back up and down and up and down the mountain for another full day of climbing, community, and doing something good for the air we all share.

Whether you’re coming to run your first lap, challenge yourself for 3, 6, 12, or 24 hours, join a team, volunteer, or simply be part of the magic, there’s a place for you here.

Every lap matters. Every person makes a difference. AND every dollar we raise goes directly to supporting clean air initiatives locally through our charity, Weber State Sustainability. @wsu_sust

Go to: runsignup.com and search: Malans peak. Here you can register to race or sign up to volunteer.

My incredible team of @monicalynnlee @mus.keep.running @brandon_p_musgrove @andrea_nye & @sianiw_ will be back for our EIGHTH YEAR! We sure hope that you’ll be there too! 👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼

Tomorrow, it starts again. 💚

RUFA 2027 registration opens Oct 31 at 6am. Last year this community climbed 6.5 million vertical feet for cleaner air. Every lap is a reminder that the mountains, and the air around them, are worth fighting for.

🌲 DIE GESCHICHTE HINTER RUNNING UP FOR AIR 📖

Am 19.9.2026 waren wir von Wald4Leben beim Event Running Up For Air am Gaisberg in Salzburg mit dabei. 🏃‍♂️

Vor Ort konnten wir ein spannendes Interview mit Leslie Keener, Program Director von Running Up For Air, führen. 🎤
Sie hat uns erzählt, wie Running Up For Air entstanden ist und wie das Event Ausdauersport mit Umweltschutz verbindet. 🌱

Wir freuen uns schon darauf, im nächsten Jahr wieder dabei zu sein. 🌲

🌲 141.010 HÖHENMETER FÜR UNSERE WÄLDER 🌲

Am 19.9.2026 waren wir von Wald4Leben beim Event Running Up for Air am Gaisberg in Salzburg mit dabei. 🏃‍♂️

One loop. One tree. One unforgettable day. 🌲❤️

So hat sich Running Up for Air am Gaisberg angefühlt.

Rauf über den Sendersteig.
Oben kurz durchatmen.
Salzburg unter uns.
Und dann wieder runter zur Zistelalm.

Runde für Runde. Gemeinsam. Für eine gute Sache.

Kein klassisches Rennen.

RUFA Salzburg, Austria was truly a dream. When someone learns what RUFA is all about and thinks, “Maybe I could bring this to my own mountains and community,” then puts in the enormous effort required to make that vision a reality, it is something truly special.

The volunteers, led by @markus.buchmann, were remarkable. By the end of the event, we genuinely felt like family. @keenerview and I are so pleased with what they created, and we were honored to participate in the race’s inaugural year.

The views were breathtaking, and the looped course was perfect for the event. Bravo to the entire @trailbande team, and thank you again for everything you have done! by @runningupforair

From one mountain to the UN’s Climate and Clean Air Coalition 🏔️ ➡️🌎

Jared and Leslie, repping RUFA in Paris today with CCAC-because the lapped you’ve logged and dollars you’ve raised got us here.

This is what happens when sport becomes activism. When local passion turns into global reach.

We’re just getting started 💫 by @runningupforair

✨Best board meeting ever? ✨It’s not everyday we share a screen recording of our board meeting, but this news is EXCITING and we wanted to share personally:

Running Up For Air has been invited to become a partner of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) at the United Nations! 🌍

The CCAC is a UN Environment Programme-convened global partnership of more than 200 governments, international organizations, and NGOs working to reduce the pollutants driving both climate change and unhealthy air. No other partner in the Coalition sits at the intersection of air quality and sport — that spot would be ours. ‼️

——

Here’s the thing: you got us here. Every mountain climbed 🏔️, every dollar raised 💰, every local nonprofit funded through a RUFA race — that’s what turned this from a group of friends running laps on a peak into a movement CCAC wants at the table. This invitation belongs to this community, not just to RUFA’s staff. So we want to hear from you directly: what’s your best idea for taking RUFA’s impact from local to global scale? 🤯We’re collecting ideas ahead of a trip in mid-September, when RUFA Program Director Leslie Keener and RUFA Founder Jared Campbell will travel to meet with CCAC’s team at their offices in Paris. Your ideas will directly shape what we bring into that room. Share your idea and you could win: we’re giving away 5 free 2027 RUFA race entries — winner’s choice of race — to five people who submit their best thinking. The form link is in our BIO and will be circulating in our stories! 👉

Thank you for being part of what got us here. We can’t wait to see what you come up with. ❤️ by @runningupforair
