What an incredible weekend!!

54km across the Welsh mountains with Amy. She absolutely smashed it and yet again run away from me for the finish proving how fit she really is. Im so proud of her and how easy she made this look. All that training paid off.

Thanks @runthroughuk for putting on such an amazing yet though event.

We will have to have a think off what the next one will be now 😂

Ive been out of the habit posting my run recently, not that ive been on many due to work and the awful heat.

Today was much more my temperature so i managed to get out for a nice 8km run. My legs haved seized up and are going to need some work getting them loose again but alls looking good for our ultramarathon in 4 weeks 🤞🏻

I really struggle to run in this heat so my training has taken a massive hit this week. I went to the gym on Monday after work but couldn’t manage 4km, i was recovering from a cold as well (yes I’m making excuses)

Im grateful that Amy has run through all this disgusting heat and she is now able to push me through it, i hated this run but shes the driving force behind it.

10km and almost 2lt of water, the cold shower was very much deserved.

Early morning run on the beach which we both felt less than perfect for 😬i think a massage is well over due.

We then drove down to @garlic_farm and had a lovely walk and lunch. I think we bought every garlic flavoured product available.

I couldn’t be bothered to find a 15km route around Bembridge last night so we went down to a local gym and smashed it on the treadmills instead.

So proud of how much Amy has got into running and shes now much fitter than I’ve ever been.

We then went to the beach for a few hours with the rest of Amys family before heading home for a bbq.

Kinda glad Amy dragged me out on my rest day, we done her sprint session along the beach and it was beautiful. Weve had a lovely day out and about.

Added something new into the training today, 30mins on a stair stepper and 160 flights climbed. Gotta say that was harder work than the treadmill so i might try and do it more.

Tried to get up early and beat the heat but i managed to find the humidity 😂

A very sweaty run this morning at a slower pace but all runs help. Im in the build phase of my Garmin Coach program now so the running is going to intensify in the coming weeks.

I also treated myself yo a new hydration backpack and a running belt today.

Dont forget your @humantra to stay hydrated on these hot days

A lovely sweaty humid 6k this evening. The calves are loosening slowly which is allowing me to enjoy these runs a bit more, it’s something that has been an inconvenience since i started and no amount of stretching helps 😂.

Getting back into the week day after work runs as i need to step up my game for the Ultra coming up.

Always finish off my runs with a @humantra electrolytes. Perfect for these hot days.

A small 5k after work today, ran faster than Garmin wanted but it was comfortable. Im going to be stepping up the training and sticking to it now.

Our 54k trail run seems to be looming ever closer even though we have 11 weeks to go 😂

Back into @puregymofficial due to the depressing rain we have had today. A comfortable 13k on the treadmill, i did the calibration on my @garmin at the end of the run but it didn’t adjust my lap paces or correct my activity score. Oo well.
