Love this for us☀️✨💍🥲 by @runthisb

Core Memory: FaceTiming my parents at 11pm in Italy to tell them @allie_oop9 just won Indoor Nationals🥹

Keep going, team✨

“But are you proud of yourself?” I whispered…
.
& through sobs @allie_oop9 nodded yes into my shoulder. “Good,” I said. “That was the goal.” ✨

The only thing I ever hope for my athletes is that they finish competitions with their head held high regardless of the result. As long as they put themselves in what I call a “position to win”, that’s all that matters. Oftentimes this doesn’t mean a literal win (though that is of course celebrated) but rather win their execution, win their preparation, win their strategy, win their effort, win their mindset. These are the things within their control, the outcome after that is not.

In January of this year Allie hadn’t PR’d in over a year, didn’t have a contract, and was a few months in to uprooting her entire life to take a chance on herself anyway. Every day she put herself in a position to win in one way or another. 8 months later she…

🏆 is a Millrose Champ
🥇won the indoor National Championship
✍️ signed a contract with @nikerunning
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 competed at the World Champs in Scotland
🥈got 2nd at the trials to qualify for the Games
🤯 ran the second fastest 800m time of any American this year
🏃🏼‍♀️💨 broke 1:58 for the first time ever
🥲 & now has officially achieved her lifelong dream of becoming an Olympian

Only two of those 8 things involved ACTUALLY winning — but consistently and deliberately putting herself in a position to win made them all possible🙌

Always keep the faith. It could happen💖 by @runthisb

Motherhood Musings: Day 29
.
.
.
Every single day in the first month with a newborn is a total blur. 24 hours are broken up by 2-4 hour chunks between breastfeeding sessions and chores and nap traps. Each week feels monotonous except for, of course, when an ever-changing mini dictator screams her orders at octaves and tones you’ve never heard before😵‍💫
.
.
Exhausted doesn’t even begin to encompass the feeling at 3am on a random Tuesday. Or, is it Saturday?
But you figure it out, don’t you?
Because you have to.
Because there’s literally no other way.
Because the most incredible things we have in this life are also the hardest fought for.
.
And so you relish in the tiny joys on the long days and endless nights. The moments that make the bags under your eyes carry a little less weight. They aren’t the obvious or the expected. They’re more subtle, more nuanced. Small but shiny ✨ Justtttt enough to catch your eye.

I always challenge my athletes to find little victories. These 13 slides are mine 😊 by @runthisb

My experience of motherhood so far in a few, unrelated sentences:

✨Everything, and I mean everything, has changed…how exciting.

✨She is ours & yet she is her own person entirely.

✨Your choice in partner matters now more than ever - I chose well.

✨’Ready’ is a strong word, but you will figure it out.

✨Sleep is both wildly necessary and completely irrelevant at the exact same time.

✨So. Many. Diapers.

✨Milk drunk seems better than any vice on planet earth.

✨She can be my whole world and only a part of who I am simultaneously.

✨Everyone has an opinion, and that hot take is absolutely none of my business.

✨I’ve never been more powerful in my life.

✨There was love before her, and love now. The latter is truly extraordinary.

Here until further notice 🙌 by @runthisb

Last night, at 38weeks pregnant, I soloed a 6:12 mile 🤭
.

I hear it almost every day - “How are you doing this??” 🤯 It’s simple: I just never told myself I couldn’t…
.

Pregnancy thus far has been my mental performance SuperBowl. Truly an incredibly fun and challenging mental load for nine whole months 🧠

😴Are there days I’m exhausted? Of course.

Have I slowed down from what I was doing previously? Sure.🚶🏽‍♀️

🧘🏽‍♀️Do I honor my body and rest when I need to? Absolutely.

Has it been easy? No.😵‍💫

🤔Could postpartum kick my ass? Maybe.

Will I EVER set a limit on myself before I experience something first hand? Never.🙌
.
Its not rocket science. All I do is try my best to wake up each and every day with zero expectations. I don’t expect to feel good, but I also don’t expect to feel bad. How I feel is how I feel, no judgement attached.
That’s👏it👏

I’m beyond grateful for how much pregnancy has taught me about resilience and my own strength. In less than a week it’s time to apply it all in a new context: parenthood. Here goes nothin 🙃

That’s all ☺️ by @runthisb

Beyond a shadow of a doubt the most incredible thing I’ve ever done in this wild and wonderful life…

Pregnancy has changed me in ways I can’t exactly put into words, but of course I’ll try.

I feel more powerful.
I feel more feminine.
I feel more spiritual.
I feel more connected.
I feel more inspired.
I feel more capable.
I feel more at peace.

I feel more me.
.
.
I have no idea how the next chapter of labor, delivery, and motherhood will be, but I do know that my mind has never been stronger. And that’s a damn good start.
.
Eight more weeks until we meet our brave girl💛

Here we go🙌
