POSTS STORIES REELS

I can’t even put into words how proud I am of Ella completing the Women’s mini marathon @vhiwmm and especially for the reason she decided to do it , for our beautiful friend @its_just_gill_ who’s been diagnosed with cancer for the second time, any time Ella struggled today she kept looking at the message on her hand my fight is Gills fight 😭😍 and it got her through. Her emotions flooded when she seen the finish line and it’s a memory I’ll forever cherish crossing that finish line hand in hand with her today @ella.inspires888 by @ruthanneb888

Episode 230 w/ @ruthanneb888

Ruth joined us this week and opened up about her harsh upbringing, her struggles with addiction and how it all led her going to prison.

Ruth was using her sentence to work on anger management, self improvement and recovering from her addiction before she fell pregnant while on temporary release. As an expectant mother, her treatment in prison changed dramatically, but her youngest daughter gave her the focus to continue to work on herself and to end the cycle of trauma.

Ruth knows first hand what needs to change within the Irish prison service and is now doing amazing advocacy work using her lived experience to improve conditions for other people going through the system.

From Addiction to Purpose

I contemplated for awhile whether or not to post this.
In the picture on the left I was 24, addiction had its grip on me, pulling deep into my soul and taking control of my life. For 14 years, I lived in a world where hope felt distant, and change seemed impossible. But today, my life looks completely different and I want to share that change is possible. Now, I dedicate my life to helping others. I work with people from all walks of life from adults to kids, I mentor and coach kids through many different sports, which has been a lifeline for me and continues to be a source of strength and inspiration. I collaborate with many other initiatives to empower others to find their path to change. I’ve been involved in numerous work with lived experience organisations and sat in places I never thought possible, from the department of justice to probation being involved in strategies to impact change with the most phenomenal and empowering people.

This post isn’t just about my past; it’s about showing what’s possible. Through sports, mentorship, and speaking out, I’ve found purpose, and I believe that lived experiences no matter how dark can be a light for others.

If you’re struggling or know someone who is, know this: change is possible. Healing is possible. And your story can become a beacon of hope for others too.

Thank you to everyone who has walked this journey with me. And for those still in it, keep fighting you’re not alone.#lifeisgood #godisgood by @ruthanneb888

Recently, I had the pleasure of finally meeting Fritzi Horstman in person here in Ireland. ❤️

Having connected and communicated over time, and having completed the Trauma Talks training delivered by Fritzi, it was so special to finally meet her face to face.

Fritzi is one of those people who leaves an impression on you. The passion, compassion and humanity she brings to her work is something truly special.

It was a pleasure to step inside the circle with Fritzi here in Ireland. 💚 by @ruthanneb888

DCM 2026
Congratulations to every person who towed that start line , getting to see some of your friends have the most spectacular run especially in that wind and enjoy the process is priceless and while also getting to cheer and have incredible interactions with strangers is pure magic. by @ruthanneb888

A massive congratulations to everyone who took part in yesterday’s Dublin Marathon, but this one is especially for all my family members ❤️

We had a few family members out there yesterday, most of them taking on their very first marathon. Getting to be there to cheer them on as they came up Roebuck Hill was such a special moment. Seeing those big smiles, even after all those miles, and knowing how much it meant to each of them to reach that finish line was just incredible.

There’s something really special about watching your own family achieve something they’ve worked so hard for. We couldn’t be prouder of every single one of you. Memories we’ll treasure for a long time. ❤️🏅 by @ruthanneb888
