POSTS STORIES REELS

Region of Waterloo Museums and Archives are proud to present their newest in-house exhibit tackling one of the most challenging subjects – death.

Opening on November 6, join us for Dying Matters: Grief. Mourning. Memory. at the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum.

Death and grief are uncomfortable subjects for many, but by examining customs and practices from a range of time periods, backgrounds, and faiths, Dying Matters sheds light on a topic that affects everyone throughout their lives. Interactive features explore the themes of grief and mourning, revealing common misconceptions in the process. Dying Matters aims to remove some of the unknown and help visitors engage in these difficult conversations.

Set against images of nature and changing seasons, Dying Matters shows us that death is something that unites us all in life.

It's #MuseumWorkersDay and if you haven't picked your Halloween costume yet, we have a few suggestions.

In all seriousness, we wish a Happy Museum Workers Day to all of our site professionals and our colleagues throughout the Region of Waterloo. Museum professionals are sometimes in galleries, at their desks, in a lab, in a workshop or even in a barn. No matter where you are, you preserve history, inspire curiosity, and bring cultural heritage to life.

Thank you ❤️ by @rwmuseumarchive

Our Archives Coordinator, Jenn, is a good sport, but we know Archives is so much more than just “Archives”.
The Region of Waterloo Archives holds records from local and regional government, the Waterloo Regional Police Services, and from local organizations, businesses, and individuals that are related to the Region of Waterloo. It’s a treasure trove of bylaws, Council minutes, assessment rolls, maps, and photographs. If you want to learn everything our Archives can offer, visit their page on our website at link in bio. by @rwmuseumarchive
