A British car tinkered with by an American to win races, yet not a Cobra?

Indeed the Arnolt Bristol is one such car from the mid 1950s that proved the now famous formula could work. The chassis and straight-six motors left England to be bodied by Bertone in Italy, before being shipped to Indiana for completion. The racing versions saw victories at Sebring in 1955, 56 and upon return in 1960 achieving a full podium in class.

Only about 80 of the original 140 cars survive to this day, this particular one being among the nicest examples thanks to @rxautoworks finishing the last few immaculate details of this 10 year restoration project.

See it on display at @salonpriveuk this weekend.

This past week was rough. Rally Bug started acting poorly shortly after leaving Richmond. Everything pointed to fuel issues, and I may have a clogged pickup. But with that repaired, a scattering spark seems to have appeared. Then in testing, dead fuel injector. Fixed that, and now dead O2 sensor. Running rich, running lean, farting and popping. _Something_ has gone badly wrong!

Was supposed to be home Monday, eventually limped it to Rob and Mike so I could borrow tools and triple the brain matter trying to solve it. I’ve swapped out many parts, and we thought we had it “good enough” to get home. It was basically clear to the ferry, but after getting off the boat, undriveable.

Made it home at 3:30am, Saturday morning. 5.5 days later than I had planned. Catching up in the office today and tomorrow, Monday night I will get to start the autopsy.

Before it was merged with Aston Martin in 1947, there was Lagonda.

One of their most beautiful models to come out before the war was the V12, of which W.O. Bentley had his hand in making as the technical director of the company at the time. Around 200 V12 models were made and coach-built, although less than 20 left the factory in Rapide specification.

This exact 1939 V12 Rapide was meticulously restored and maintained by RX Autoworks, winning its class at Pebble Beach in 2010. It was a privilege to be around and experience such a significant vehicle of this vintage, wherever it ends up next I know it will be cherished, as a car like this commands!
