Breast Cancer walk with my family & homies! My sister @rxhendy been battling the hardest fight of her life, and still she shows up!! It was amazing to see all the support out in the streets! Shoutout to @steph_is_on_the_go for being a fighter too! ✊🏽👏🏽💕 by @rxhendy

Had such a great time in the DMV! ❤️

Grandma turned 90, and I still can’t get over how incredibly healthy and independent she is. She still does everything on her own! What a blessing it is to live long enough to see so many generations of your family. She’s a great great grandma now!

I asked her if she had any words of wisdom to share, and her response was simple:

“Live your life one day at a time and always put God first.”

That was it. No long explanation, no extra words, just that. Such a simple answer, yet so much wisdom behind it.

And it really got me thinking. Just imagine everything she’s witnessed in 90 years. The world changing around her, the different chapters of life she’s experienced, the people she’s loved, the friendships she’s made, and the loved ones she’s had to say goodbye to. I just found out she danced on the Ed Sullivan show as a teenager! Imagine how many versions of life she’s lived through, how many challenges she’s overcome, and how many lessons she’s learned along the way.

And after all of that, 90 years of living, her advice boils down to those two simple things.

I find that so fascinating.

We spend so much of our lives overcomplicating things, worrying about what comes next, and constantly preparing for tomorrow that we forget to appreciate the day we’re actually living. Why do we do that to ourselves?

Maybe life really is a lot simpler than we make it.

Anyway, consider this your little reminder to slow down, be present, put God first, and enjoy the life you’ve been given. ❤️

And on another note, this is my family. My roots. My people. And there’s something so special about knowing that no matter where life takes me, I have another place in this world that I can always call home. 🥹❤️

P.S. I used AI to remove the people in the background of the first picture. by @rxhendy

I don’t even recognize myself anymore.

Every time I catch my reflection or see a picture of myself, I genuinely do a double take and get grossed out. And if you saw this photo and thought, “Who the heck is that?”… that’s okay. I had the same reaction.

Cancer has a way of taking so much from you. Not just your health, but pieces of your identity you never imagined you’d have to grieve. It’s almost impossible to explain because no two cancer journeys are the same. Even among cancer patients, every story is different. It’s a lonely journey.

Yesterday I had surgery to remove the remaining tumors and lymph nodes. After a lot of thought, I chose a double lumpectomy over a double mastectomy, even though it means more radiation. I know some people think it’s the wrong decision, and that’s okay. I don’t feel the need to justify it.

The truth is… I just needed to keep a little piece of me.

Because I mourn the old Angela.

I freaking miss her sooooo much.

I don’t look the same. I don’t move the same. I don’t feel the same. I don’t even think the same.

And maybe that’s the hardest part.

At the same time, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. Gratitude that I’m still here. Gratitude that treatment has gotten me this far. Gratitude for every person who has prayed for me, supported me, and carried me when I couldn’t carry myself. Gratitude for the friends that visited both near and far when I was falling apart.

Both things can be true.

I can be deeply grateful for this life… and still grieve the version of me that cancer took away.

Maybe I’ll never be her again.

But maybe, one day, I’ll learn to love the woman I’m becoming.

Anyway, surgery was a success and I’m doing well. The twins are like estranged sisters now. One is definitely olderrrr than the other 😅💕 by @rxhendy

Getting back just to take off…quite the time was had

Happy 40th @roboherculesrx!!! 🥂🥷🏾🤠 by @rxhendy

Cheers to hair growth… I know you see that peach fuzzzzzzz 🤩 it’s growing back white and I kinda dig the Storm look. I can’t wait until I have some hair again, yall don’t even know how ridiculous I’m about to be with it. Side note, this next cycle of chemo won’t cause hair loss because it targets something else! Can I get a Woohoo!

Fun fact, I tore my pants taking these pictures. The rocks were so sharp and they just ripped through my pants and cut my butt. I just freaking bought them a few days ago too!

Anyway, Live Long and Prosper, my loves! by @rxhendy

Week long birthday celebration for Booty has officially started!

Not only were the new high rollers a great exercise (I was gassed AF), it was sooo much fun for $20 for the whole day.

I absolutely love Bellows and it’s my favorite place to stay on the island.

No stress just good vibes

Celebrating a few different things: Luca’s graduation, moms birthday, Asher’s birthday, and completing my first chemo cycle.

Right before I left we found out the chemo didn’t work as hoped but it did kill off a lot of the cancer! There was no evidence (through imaging) of a tumor in my brain, breasts, nor stomach anymore but there was still cancer in my lymph nodes. So, i’ll be starting another cycle of a more aggressive chemo after a little break to help regain strength. So with all that, I thank the Lord for the opportunity to come home for a bit and build some lasting memories and a little strength🤍☀️🌴even though I was praying I’d get to ring the bell…May be sometime next year 😚🤙🏾 by @rxhendy

Photo dump.

Congratulations, to my Luca Butt @luucaa_hh , aka Asher’s Noy Noy!!! He is truly a remarkable young man that is going to do great things. I’m so proud of him and I can’t wait until he gets to enjoy his muchhh deserved graduation present in Hawaii. We love you Luca!!!

Congratulations, to Ms Alicca @aliccalopezzz, Ms Beauty, Brains, and Bronze. Ricky & Amely, yall did an amazing job raising this girl when we were all just kids ourselves. I can’t say that enough. We love you soo much fam!!!

Being bald is such a vibe ✨

I totally underestimated the emotional impact of shaving my head. The process I went through (bleaching it, dyeing it green, chopping the ponytail, then finally shaving it) honestly helped me dissociate a bit. So thank you, Stephanie, for the suggestion.

But even after all that… I still cried…a lot. Because this is just really freaking hard on so many levels.

I’ve prayed so much for God to give me comfort, because looking in the mirror has been gut wrenching. Everyday I’ve felt disgusted by my own reflection. I know my physical appearance should be the least of my concerns, but that’s way easier said than done, especially when appearance is often the first thing people (including ourselves) notice and judge.

I’m not saying any of this for clout or “aura farming” lol but just to show how significant a “simple” side effect of chemo can be.

That said… I’ve actually started to enjoy being bald. It’s freeing. It’s also been fun rubbing my head and making bald jokes with my dad and brother (10/10 would recommend 🤣). The only thing is… I’ve been avoiding mirrors like I owe them money.

But today was different.

I wore my wig while running errands and to chemo. Even when it got hot and itchy, I kept it on. Even when the other bald cancer patients were around me, I kept it on. Then the second I got home, I ripped it off with the biggest sigh of relief. My head could finally breathe!

And for the first time… I looked in the mirror without feeling that wave of revulsion.

So yeah, this post is me bragging on God A LOT for answering prayers in ways that matter more than I expected.

Also, let’s be real, it’s kind of silly trying to hide it. We all know I’m bald. I’m basically a polished little Milk Dud at this point, apparently @roboherculesrx’s twin 😂

But I’m comfortable and I’m learning to accept what I can’t change in this (hopefully temporary) season.

I’ll still wear wigs because they’re beautiful and fun, but I think I’ll also start posting the bald moments too.

So here’s my post chemo pic and some funny bald pics… let’s all enjoy together 🤩 by @rxhendy

I have cancer. It’s been a little more than 4 months since I first found out and I’ve learned so much already. While some days have been very hard (to say the least), some days are very good, and I take full advantage of those days.

My diagnosis has been less than ideal and quite more on the serious advanced side. I won’t get into specifics because I don’t want to make my burden your burden, nor do I want you to feel sorry for me, but I do want my life to show everyone just how gracious God has been to me. I want everyone to experience the peace He has covered me with. And with that being said, this experience has given me a lot of new perspectives.

1) Next year is not guaranteed for me but neither is tomorrow. Don’t keep telling yourself tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. I’m very thankful I picked up flying even though I had to give that up. I’m very thankful I was able to coach Asher even though I couldn’t make it through the whole season.
2) Life can be hard and stressful but not every stress and difficulty is your burden to carry.
3) Don’t keep killing yourself to help others. Too much help can hinder growth. Without God’s direction, even good intentions can slowly weaken the lessons life is meant to teach.
4) Time is short, Life is moving fast, but you can definitely make time for the people and things you care about. Check in with your loved ones!
5) Don’t wait for a bad diagnosis to take care of your health. Your body is a temple, start treating it like one. I’ve worked hard over the years to build a good foundation that is combating this.
6) I’ve lost my hair, gained weight, and got steroid face but my friends and family still remain by my side. Your looks aren’t what keep people around, being authentically you and treating people well does.

I don’t want my life to be defined by this cancer so if you want to stay updated you can follow this page @triple_this_triple_that which is intended to not just keep everyone updated but also help those in similar situations or those that know someone in similar situations. It’s a difficult time to navigate for everyone touched by this, but God’s got my back and he has yours too, if you let Him! 😘🙌🏾 by @rxhendy

What an incredible birthday! I feel so loved I’m not even lying about my age anymore 🥳

Thank you to everyone that has reached out to wish me a Happy Birthday, it really means the world 🥹. The surprise birthday party on a WEDNESDAY at 8pm is CRAZY work! My logical mind froze (straight 404), but gratitude said, “We’re rolling with this.” Some of you flew in from out of town on a whim, and the others are like me and it was way past our bedtime with screaming kids and work waiting the next morning. You all are so freaking incredible!!!

I am very very grateful and I love each and every one of you 😘❤️ and I hope you all continue to love on eachother.

@roboherculesrx & @leiloaneiaso yall some real ones.

P.S. I have no pictures so everyone send them to me, please! by @rxhendy
